It is a great hobby that not only takes time, but also brings great joy. If it’s a hobby, that usually takes money, but if you can do it, the more you’re worth, the better! Fly fishing is a fantastic hobby, and a popular one at that, but buying a wide array of flies. Your tackle box, apart from a couple of good fly rods, can cost a small fortune. One alternative way to make this great hobby a little more affordable is to learn how to fly lure your own.
There are many types of fishing lures fly, and you need to make a pattern that will attract fish to your area. The type of fly that grayling in Alaska sees as food may not work for rainbow trout in Iowa. Different fish from different environments will have different baits. Learning to make your own fly fishing lures is a great way to both save money and appreciate this hobby more fully.
You need a few things to start your lures. Here is a list of things you want and/or need:
· Good luck
· Extra hooks
· Bobbin holder
· Thread
Cork, small plastic, or whatever fits the head
· A feather/feathers or other things that can work as a small piece of grass
A good vise is absolutely necessary to hold the hook firmly in place as you work to make the fly tight. This will help to increase the length of life, and allows you to do how to fly fishing lures made will be more appealing to the fish itself. When making flies, it’s best not to make anything too small and use long shank hooks—my preferred setting is a 2 inch shank hook, but I also have clumsy fingers.

Now all you have to do is cut it off and there you go! It’s an easy to use, popular fly fishing lure.
To fish some fly lure, with the same design. Just make sure the colors match well, otherwise you’re not likely to get nearly as many hits. After you do the first couple of these, you’ll get the hang of it and do it in no time!
