Tanglewood Festival of Lights – Clemmons, North Carolina

For sixteen years now, Tanglewood Park has presented a holiday show to audiences of all ages. Tanglewood Park is located at 4061 Clemmons Road in Clemmons, NC and is easily accessible via Interstate 40. The Festival of Lights begins in early November and ends on New Year’s Day. The light display is open from 6 pm to 11 pm.

Tanglewood has a large entrance fee for all light display visitors. Friday through Sunday and Christmas Eve and New Year Eve, admission is as follows
Cars, vans and trucks $13, commercial vans, limousines and small vehicles $21, motorcoaches and buses $80. Monday through Thursday the rate is slightly cheaper. Cars, vans and trucks are $13, commercial vans, limousines and small cars are $16, motorcoaches and buses are still $80.

Many families come to Tanglewood each year to see the light, so be prepared to wait in line. While driving through the park, you should dim your headlights to get a better view of the four-mile light display. you drive at a very slow pace to see about two hundred holiday light displays. Could you imagine setting up over a million twinkling lights to see your guests? In August, workers will begin installing the lights. Yes, over a million lights will be used for this year’s light show sponsored by Chicken Fil A.

Passing through the wheel, you will come to a large red barn, where you can break it in half. Enjoy a cup of hot cocoa or have some cookies while you wait to see Santa. Santa stops by on Friday visits. The Red Barn has become home to nearly a hundred local artists and vendors. Everyone is sure to find something they like by taking this short break. Buy an ibismalo or two, and roast them on a large roasting pan, which is set up for all the guests to enjoy. Additional concessions are also available for purchase. Nachos, sandwiches, chips, coffee and other goodies are available for purchase.

If you don’t want to drive your car through hit the display, book a hayride or a horse-drawn carriage. Hayrides can be rented for the evening for groups of up to 25 adults. Hayrides are pulled by a tractor and you must pay an entry fee in addition to the $110.00 reservation fee. Horse drawn carriages can be reserved for up to 4 guests and reserve your space early as these fill up quickly. You must pay an entry fee in addition to a reservation fee of $60.

The festival of light is suitable for kids and adults of all ages. Don’t forget your camera and some festive music to enhance the mood that the holiday lights display at Tanglewood will put you in!
