Cinema is full of horror movies, from carrying nuclear axes to mundane things, we all have them. The best of these is the waspelle movie. Since the early days of silent films, there have been films and movies similar to werewolves. Innumerable celluloid rods have been devoted to these unnatural beasts, but few of them can be called great.
Hell is without a doubt the best wolf movie. In fact, it has both werewolves and vampires, making the moment a hit with fans of both sides. Released in 2003, this movie follows the war between “Lycans” and Vampires that has lasted for centuries. This is a great movie with some internationally known actors and stunning visual effects. For pure adrenaline pumping action and great plot, you can’t beat Inferno. I will also include Inferno: Evolution in this slot.
The next big werewolf should be an American film in London Werewolf. This movie hit the theaters in 1981 and quickly gained worldwide acclaim. The script involves two Americans backpacking across England. They find themselves attacked by someone in the wilderness with only one survivor. The very graphic effects show him turning into a beast in detail before he goes out to hunt. As an added bonus, the victims return to haunt him in the movie. This movie is both haunting and funny while still captivating the viewers. In 1998, its sequel, An American Werewolf Paris came out. Although not nearly as well-crafted as its predecessor, it still deserves some mention.
Released in 2001, it takes the Wolf Brothers number three spot. French film originally titled “Le Pacte de loups”; This was released in French with English subtitles. The plot involves a traveling scientist and his American/a> warrior partner hunting an unknown creature that is killing the local population. . Combining werewolves and fierce martial arts scenes, this movie offers a lot of entertainment. This movie has few good actors and average plot but still manages to draw you in. This is a great movie and higher rated, but reading the subtitles and watching the movie at the same time can be a bit distracting. If you can find an English version, give it a careful review.
Number four on the list is howling. This movie was released in 1980 and is a nice horror/dark comedy. Between the big action scenes are some really good dark humor. Set in California, the film follows an investigative reporter as he works to uncover the secrets of a cult. Since this movie revolves around werewolves, you can guess what that secret was.
Wolf, released in 1994 and starring some really big names, takes fifth on my list. Against the editor’s back drop we find Will Randall, playing Jack Nicholson, an aging editor who loses his leg. The old man followed in his footsteps, played by James Spader, waiting for Randall to make his last mistake of entering. In the middle is a love interest played by Michael Pfeiffer. Everything looks pretty lame to Randall until he is bitten by a wolf. That is where I would turn. Randall now has the courage to take his rival to the last resort. I won’t spoil the rest of the movie but it’s pretty good. A big budget, better-than-average special effects, and great actors make this a potential disaster into a decent movie.
The last movie on my list is Dog Soldiers. This movie was released in 2002 in the U.K. This movie is a little on the low budget side and ni. They don’t have big name players. It follows a group of British soldiers who come across the remnants of the Special Forces on Mount Scots. They were immediately attacked by a group of lycans and managed to escape into the village. Here they must fight as best they can with the beasts. This is good for small budget movies. Although the other films on this list are better, I still recommend seeing this one.
There are other films that are not quite suitable to make the list but I could still give you a kick. They include Silver Bullet, Sleepwalkers, Ginger Snaps and Company of Wolves. I would have included Van Helsing in one of the pictures above, but it’s more about Van Helsing hunting vampires, since I think it’s a minor role.
