I often suffer from itching due to anxiety. We usually experience itching on our hair, hands, arms and legs. Scratching tiny holes in the skin can cause itching due to stress and anxiety. Scaling is a reflex attack to soothe the itch. Scratching helps to relieve itching in the short term, but scratching can also stimulate nearby skin cells that trigger more itching. Scratching actually makes it more itchy and it becomes a cycle of itching and scratching.

I want to scratch when itchy because of anxiety; I try, however, to refrain from scratching because the itching is aggravated. I’ve tried lotion and cream to relieve the itch, and that doesn’t help either. I am anxious to get relief from my itching. Sometimes I take an antihistamine to stop the histamine response. It is usually 100 percent effective for relieve my anxiety and itching.
