I found this paper about liposuction and fat gain. This is, to my knowledge, the first recent peer-reviewed paper that has scientifically examined whether men will gain weight after liposuction. Liposuction has become very popular in today’s industrial society. It is often seen as a fast-track techniques to achieve weight loss and for cosmetic use.
Liposuction was “created” in 1974. Since then, especially with the introduction of the swelling technique in 1990, suction lipectomy (the medical term for liposuction) has become a solution to remove fat spots that do not respond to lifestyle modification (diet and exercise).
People believe that liposuction is a permanent solution to their weight problems. Although people may believe that liposuction will remove fat forever, there is evidence to the contrary. I saw how some of my friends who gained weight lost it after two years through liposuction. But, as I said, there was no knowledge of this matter.
Now in fact, what I believe is the first paper on liposuction and fat gain, titled: “Fat Redistribution After Liposuction Lipectomy: Defense Body Fat and Redeposition Patterns”, is clear evidence of fat gain after liposuction. Not only that the authors have taught that fat gains are placed in the place where the focus is removed.
If you are interested, you can go and read the details in the paper, but the indisputable evidence (by various techniques such as dual energy X-ray absorptiometry, magnetic resonance imaging. euglycemic clamps and hyperinsulinemic blood measurements) is that body fat is restored after one year and “new fat” is deposited around the abdominal area.
This study is of great interest to people looking at liposuction for fat reduction, it is also important from the scientific perspective of body fat and fat and especially in the hypothesis of “body fat-point”. Many scientists think that fat is the point (a body fat percentage) that is protected. through the body, if we try to change it through diet or exercise.
This paper confirms what has been seen in animal models. If you physically remove fat from the body, the body will make more fat to replace its fat point. It is an intrinsic regulatory factor that must be considered for any intervention for weight loss. The fact that abdominal fat is reallocated after liposuction poses an additional risk to the patient, since abdominal fat is associated with higher cardiovascular risks.
