MacBook Versus HP Laptop

I recently bought a MacBook from Apple, and for many years before that I was working with an HP Pavilion laptop. Now of course the performance and quality of these two laptops will be significantly different, but here I am talking about usability and cost. While looking through the various types of Laptops in the market, people usually ask what is the difference between getting a MacBook. Apple or laptop from a group like HP. Since I’ve had both types of laptops and worked with different operating systems for a while, I’ll give you a quick rundown of what to expect from each.

First, if you’ve been using Windows for a long time and have never touched a Mac in your life, you may experience some familiarity when playing around with a new system. The opposite can also be true (Long time Mac user switching to Windows… although this is not very common). This may seem obvious at first, but with your first MacBook you don’t feel empowered and things don’t work the same way or are arranged in a way that you’re not used to. HP laptops will have a pre-installed Windows option. A Mac operating system can do the same things as Windows, but in a different way. You can’t do the same things on a Mac that you can on a Windows PC. However, there are many cool and useful tools available on MacBooks that are not necessarily available on pre-configured HP laptops. If you are a Mac user, you may find applications on Windows that will work better than those available on the MacBook. If you’re curious, try out the MacBook and/or HP laptop applications before deciding which one you’d like better.

Second, MacBooks tend to be expensive. The new line of MacBooks has different shapes at different prices, but that doesn’t mean they can necessarily fit any budget. With sites catering for HP laptops, they offer customized models that tend to be cheaper than MacBooks. If you’re concerned about your budget and can’t afford something expensive from Apple, consider an HP laptop, or any number of other sites where laptop models are a little more custom and more affordable.

Third, MacBooks come with a lot of software built into it. There are applications to play your DVDs, organize your photos, listen to music, browse the internet, chat online and much more. which are already preconfigured and installed when you first turn on your MacBook. Whereas an HP laptop that comes pre-installed with Windows won’t necessarily have that much. There are some applications that come pre-installed, but you won’t find them like the applications that come with MacBooks. I like to use a lot of software on Windows PCs I have to install or purchase Windows separately. The nice thing about MacBooks is that I can turn it on and whatever it is I need to do it right, granted I don’t need any special application like Microsoft Word or specific type of video player.

So, this is a quick and dirty guide on the differences between HP Laptops and MacBooks from Apple. Of course, performance and speed are not covered, but those things can be debated back and forth until the end of time. Yes, my MacBook is significantly faster than my older HP laptop with Windows installed, but that’s because it’s much older and more than outdated. In my experience only the MacBook seems to be very good in speed. However, if you do proper research into the technologies built into the laptop, you can find a current HP laptop that performs just as well, or if not, better than the MacBook.

The above differences will give you a boost in the right direction, which can be important to you with a laptop. Remember to do your research and consider whether you are ready to expand your horizons. Have you tried using Windows Installer on another operating system like OSX? Are you a long time Mac user ready to see what the fuss is about on Windows? Or do you want to stick with what you know? If you are an adventurous user like me, I recommend checking out the alternative options, just so you can learn more and be more diversified in your technology. Good luck and have fun with your decision.
