Where to Shop at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Disney’s Animal Kingdom gift shops are full of animated displays and entertaining exhibits, and when it’s time to take a break from the park and pick up a few souvenirs, you have plenty of choices. Disney merchandise can be purchased throughout Walt Disney World and even the Downtown Disney Marketplace, but when it’s time to find Rafiki and Simba gear, the Animal Kingdom stores are the best places to explore the jungle. From open-air kiosks in the park, to complete gift stations in each of the Animal Kingdom’s themed lands, you’ll need to set some time aside from the amusements for your very own shopping spree! Here’s where to go:

Head to the Serka Zong Bazaar at Expedition Everest for a giant selection of Asian-themed goodies. The bazaar is full of merchandise that’s themed around most of the rides and attractions throughout the Animal Kingdom, and surprisingly enough, you won’t find much of Mickey in these parts. The shop features Asian themed gifts including Himalayan rocks, pictures, Yeti t-shirts, and hats instead of the usual Disney memorabilia, so take your pick from a few unique gifts and souvenirs. You can also find some beautiful Asian gifts around the open kiosks scattered across Asia. Pick up a bamboo stationary and other gifts at these small booths for some unique finds!

When you find yourself battling it out with T Rex in DinoLand U.S.A., head to the Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures store. Here you’ll find a roundup of dinosaur-related goods including skeleton kits, puzzles, and games. There’s plenty of Disney merchandise here as well, and Dino Bite snacks are a great way to keep up your energy as you forge ahead.

Make sure you stop at the Mombasa Marketplace on your trip to Africa. This is one of the only places you can pick up some African-themed pottery and masks, and they make great decorations for any living space back home! There’s plenty of Disney merchandise here as well, but you’re much better off stocking up on the unique African-inspired gifts, souvenirs, and decorations.

Out of the Wild isn’t too far from the Mombasa Marketplace, a safari-themed shop that will give you everything you need to enjoy your own outdoor explorations. Pick up binoculars, hats, books about wildlife, and other souvenirs with an outdoorsy theme. There are a few Disney-themed toys and games here as well, but the majority of the goods are designed around a safari theme.

Discovery Island is the main shopping hub of the Animal Kingdom, and it’s best to stop by here at the end of your visit so you don’t have to carry around all the goodies on the rides. Pick up your Tree of Life souvenirs at Disney Outfitters; here you’ll find pins, stationery, plush toys, and a whole range of unique gifts that will easily take care of your holiday shopping list. Discovery Island is a great spot to grab a snack and recharge before the next set of activities.

From Asian-inspired gifts to souvenirs from your safari in Africa, the Animal Kingdom offers plenty of shopping opportunities. Just make your rounds near the end of your trip so you don’t have to worry about carrying your merchandise as you enjoy the kingdom!
