Avon Review, In Bloom by Reese Witherspoon

As an Independent Avon Representative, I am asked to make product recommendations. From fragrances to shades of eyewear, a representative has to know her products. What better way to recommend than to use the products myself. This weeks review is In Bloom by Reese Witherspoon.

Reese Witherspoon is Avon’s Global Ambassador. Appointed as Avon’s first ever Global Ambassador in 2007, Reese’s duties include being the spokeswoman for Avon’s beauty products and serving as honorary chairman of the Avon Foundation which focuses on initiatives on breast cancer and domestic violence.

As soon as I heard about In Bloom, I absolutely could not wait to try it. Knowing it is coming from a brand I can trust (Avon) and a strong, talented woman such as Reese, this fragrance is sure to be a winner.

My first impression was the bottle is very elegant. A very stylish and modern bottle has a beautiful flower shaped top. There is not much one can really say about a perfume bottle.

I am not a fan of very heavy floral scents. I tend to sway towards the musky or fruity blends. I do however love the scents of gardenia, magnolia, and honey suckle. Upon my first spray, I immediately picked up on the strong hint of gardenia followed by a light hint of peach. Not to overpowering, the scent blended very well. The undertones of amber and slight hint of lush florals rounds the scent to a soft finish. I love how this fragrances starts off very strong but ends on a very light fruity floral note.

I decided to take In Bloom on a three day test drive. Day one I wore it to Church. I had several people comment on my fragrance asking what it was. I gladly told them it was In Bloom. The second day was at work. I again had several inquiries as to what perfume I was wearing. I was told it had a strong scent of gardenia and peach. The third day I was around family and friends. The only person that noticed was my mother. She is very picky and noticed my fragrance immediately. The only complaint she had was that the fragrance seemed to be a little to strong for her. She tends to go with very light fragrances.

As for pro’s and con’s, the pro’s win. In Bloom is a very elegant and sensual fragrance. The packaging is very beautiful in a 1.7 fl oz size. The fresh gardenia, peach, and Amber round this fragrance well. The only con I have is that it is a little over powering at first. If you are not into very floral scents, this is not for you.

Right now Avon is selling In Bloom alone for 34.00 or in a 4 piece gift collection for 39.00. I am all about layering products for long lasting scents. The collection includes In Bloom Eau De Parfum, body lotion, and shower gel. In a beautiful gold gift bag, this is sure to make the special woman in your life feel special.
