Fun Activities In North Texas
The Bullet Trap
2608 Avenue K
Plano Texas
(972)881-0372
This facility is where the avid gun enthusiast can go and practice his shooting skills. I have been to a few gun ranges and this one is my favorite because of the fact that this gun range is totally indoors. I like this feature a lot because you feel more safe. The whole environment at The Bullet Trap is welcoming when you walk through the front doors. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable as well.
The gun range itself consists of individual firing lanes and the firing targets which you acquire at check in are manually controlled by the person in that particular lane. You can take your time and you are not rushed in any way and there is nobody there to tell you when to shoot. You shoot at your own pace and you can also choose how far away you want your target to be. You can choose to fire at ten yards away, fifteen yards away and up to twenty five yards away. Another reason I prefer the Bullet Trap is the fact that everyday, there is an instructor from the Texas Department of Public Safety on the premises to answer any questions you may have concerning Concealed Hanguns.
The Bullet Trap also has a forty two hundred square foot showroom inside the same building. This showroom offers a wide variety of firearms and also accessories from well know manufacturers. You can also take a concealed handgun class right there on the premises. This class will teach you all about gun safety which is a must and you will also learn how to properly hold a weapon and the correct way to stand. You will also be taught all of the gun laws for the state of Texas. Gun laws differ from state to state of course. The range fees vary for members and non members.
If you are thinking about purchasing a handgun and you do not know what you want yet, The Bullet Traps offers a great incentive that will help in your decision for your purchase. What they offer is that you can test fire a weapon that you have been considering to purchase. This way by actually firing the gun, you will be able to feel the grip and how the gun loads and unloads and how much of a kickback the gun has.
The Bullet trap is open seven days a week. There is also a family night offered on Friday nights.
I have been to other gun ranges that are not indoors and I have found that the outdoor facilities are not fun at all. During the summertime you have sweat pouring down off of you since there is no air conditioning and then during the wintertime, you are shivering to death from the cold so much, that you cannot concentrate on what you are doing and your time spent there will be very unpleasant.
I highly recommend the Bullet Trap.
Whirlybird/LaserWhirld

Plano Texas

This facility is over sixty two hundred square feet of fun and is on two levels. Inside of here there are billard tables, video games, and you can enjoy a few pizzas and they also serve beer. One of the best games to play here is the Whirlyball. This game reminds me of bumper cars and this is so exciting to play. You win by actually scooping the ball into your goal. You can also ambush an opponent in laser tag. The prices may be a little too much for most, but I think it is well worth the money. For the whirlybird, it is $50 for thirty minutes and then $150.00 for one hour. This game is fun to play and fun to watch as well.
