When I make my warm baked apple crisp, I love to make sure all my ingredients are fresh and organic. The ingredients I use to make my warm baked apple crisp are freshly picked McIntosh apples, lemon juice, rolled oats, brown sugar, cinnamon sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, vanilla extra and butter. If you don’t want to use organic ingredients that is fine, but having truly fresh pesticide free ingredients really helps make the apple crisp healthier, taste better and have a true warm apple crisp aroma.

Making, Baking and Eating the Warm Baked Apple Crisp

Making the warm baked apple crisp like I mentioned is easy. The first things you need to do are washing, peeling and removing the cores from about ten apples. Then, roughly chop the apples into bite-sized chunks and squeeze about two tablespoons of fresh lemon juice over them to prevent the apples from breaking down and turning brown. After, toss the chunked apples in a half cups of cinnamon sugar and place in a buttered medium sized casserole dish. Now in a separate bowl melt about a ¼ cup of butter in the microwave and combined a tablespoon of vanilla extra, a teaspoon of cinnamon, a pinch of nutmeg and allspice, ¾ cup of brown sugar, ¾ cup of rolled oats and a ½ cup of flour with it using a fork until you great a wet gritty clumpy oat mixture. Then, sprinkle the mixture onto the chunked sized coated cinnamon apples until there is a nice even layer. After, bake the apple crisp in the oven at 350 degrees for about 35 to 40 minutes, or until the apples are, fork tender. Once the apple crisp is done, it should have golden crispy top and nice tender, but not mushy apples towards the bottom of the casserole dish. Then allow the apple crisp to cool for 30 minutes and serve it up slightly warm with some homemade vanilla bean ice cream or wipe topping of your choice. I know in our family with love homemade vanilla bean ice cream, but you can use a store but one instead and the apple crisp will taste just as good.
