If you prefer Mexican you may want to try Javier’s Cantina and Grill or if it’s sushi you are craving, Mahi Mahi is the place to go. Edwards Big Newport 6 Cinemas, 300 Newport Center Drive, Newport Beach, CA 92660
(949) 640-4600

Edwards Big Newport 6 Cinema was the first theater in Orange County that was built with a giant-sized auditorium that seated 1,000 people in 1969 (which still remains today). Big Newport 6 was so popular that you could always find the “in-crowd” there at an opening night for a big movie debut. The tradition still holds true today, when an important new movie is premiering, fans camp out the night before, dressed in costumes to represent that movie. This theater now has a total of 3 auditoriums with stadium seating. All the auditoriums have digital sound. The Price for an Adult is $11.00; children aged 3-12 and senior citizens 55 and over are $8.50. You can purchase tickets in advance at www.fandango.com.

Starplex Cinemas – Woodbridge Dollar Movies 5, 4626 Barranca Parkway, Irvine, CA 92604
(949) 733-0980

With the financial crisis today, Starplex Cinema Movie 5 is the place to go to see a movie. All shows before 6PM are only $1.50 and all shows after 6PM are $1.00. On Tuesday, All shows are $1.00 All Day. The only catch with this movie theater is they do not play debut movies, but movies that are preparing to be released on DVD format. If you missed a movie on the big screen and you want to see it before it is released on DVD, this is the place to go. There is also a Borders bookstore, Ruby’s, and Sticky Fingers (a great place to get a shaved ice after the movie). You can’t order the tickets on-line, but you can go to the website and see what movies are currently playing at https://starplex.tstickets.com/starplex.aspx?theatreid=1013.

Enjoy!
