We all know acne can be super stubborn, especially the black heads. I started developing acne about 11 years ago, and still have it to this day. I have experienced with different prescription acne treatments. Even though acne does not seem as a huge deal, it can effect your self esteem. It can be completely embarrassing at times.
Differin Gel
Where do I begin? This product is supposed to kill acne bacteria and leave your face almost acne free. I am one of those people who looks up reviews before I try a product. My dermatologist at the time prescribed this to me, I rushed to get it filled without looking up reviews first. At this point my acne was horrible, and I was desperate to try anything. I had blackheads as well as acne lesions underneath the skin, which were painful to the touch. So after a few months, I had not noticed any difference. At my followup I brought it up to the dermatologist at the time and he told me to stick it out. After sticking it out for a year, with absolutely no improvement, I knew it was time for a new dermatologist and a new product.
Retin A Micro
This product is powerful, and works almost as a vacuum to your pores and slowly brings all the bacteria to the surface. Mainly, my acne was big bumps under the skin, along with blackheads. Your skin will look worse way before it gets better. Some people assume its actually making their face break out more, and give up. If your face is looking worse, believe me, that’s a sign its working. It also peels the skin, and dries it out. So use every other day if your face gets really dry, and be sure to apply lotion.
You only need to apply a small amount if this product, if you use more, your just wasting the product. Using more than the recommended dose will not intensify or quicken your results. After years of using this product, I gradually need a stronger dose because my skin gets immune to it. This is by far the most amazing product. I received so many compliments about how pretty my skin was when using this.
Acanya Gel
This product is great for blackheads, you only need a small amount when applying this. Within just a few days of using this, I noticed a huge difference in the blackheads on my face. I wouldn’t recommend this for anything but small acne lesions and blackheads. If you have deep set acne, this probably won’t work very well. Great overall product.
Clindamycin Gel
This product is similar to Acanya Gel. However, my belief is that its not as effective. Acanya Gel is Clindamycin , and benzoyl peroxide, Whereas; Clindamycin is only Clindamycin . I even tried experimenting mixing benzoyl peroxide gel with Clindamycin , and definitely still don’t work as well as Acanya . I would only use this if you have minimal blackheads, and just want a more even tone.
