Six Secrets of Disney, Better Left Untold?

After being an annual pass holder of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks for the last several years, I have come across a handful of interesting and deeply kept secrets that the Disney Company has been trying to keep from all of their guests for decades. Today, six of them are given out.

The No Death on Disney Property Clause

Did you know that up until just a few years ago, the Disney Company had an arrangement with area hospitals and emergency response crews that in the event of a fatal injury occurring on the park property, that the victim would not “officially” be pronounced dead until they arrived at an area hospital? This was done to falsify the concept that we have all heard for so many years that “Disney would never hurt you.”

The Splash Mountain Club

If you have ever been on the Splash Mountain Ride before than you are aware of the fact that there is a fast motion camera that snaps a picture of you as the drop point in the ride. If you have ridden the ride enough times, then you know exactly when that picture is taken. Just like those women that have created the “Flash Mountain Club,” removing their tops before the picture is taken.

Can you find Every Hidden Mickey?

Hidden Mickey’s are probably the most known of the Disney Secrets by most guests. However are you aware that there are several Mickey’s that are in every Disney movie, shaped from buildings and even in gardens that can only be seen by air?

The Main Street Trick

The buildings that line the sides of Main Street USA inside the Magic Kingdom at Disney World are a total optical illusion that makes the road look like it just continues to go on and on. The trick here is that the buildings are built to real life size at the bottom and as they go up to the next floors they are scaled smaller and tilted slightly towards the Magic Kingdom.

There really is a City below the Disney Parks

Few people ever notice them but there are several quick access points in and out of the park to the city underground all over the parks. The Cast Members use these to access their costumes and to easily travel from one area of the park to another. These routes are also used to quickly rush ill-fallen guests out of the public eye to an emergency treatment center.

Pornographic Statue inside the Park

There is a legend behind the earliest of tricks that involved the entering of adulterated themes into the Disney movies and on in particular about the “Partner’s Statue” standing in front of the Magic Kingdom. If you turn to the right angle, Mickey’s hand suddenly becomes another instrument!
