More tall women than you may think refuse to wear high heels, even though the best looking shoes often come with a high heel. Many tall women won’t even wear shoes with 2-inch heels. According to the six tall women I interviewed, tall women who avoid high heels don’t know what they’re missing! If you’re a tall woman who can’t imagine walking around in high heels, read on for some encouragement.
Why would a very tall woman wear high heels, you might wonder. I’m 5-8, not considered very tall, but tall enough to hit six feet in high heels. And even then, I still don’t feel tall enough. But what do very tall women who love high heels have to say? “I love wearing high heels,” says Keri, a confident woman who’s naturally six feet tall.
She continues:
They are stylish and fun, and can make just about any outfit look fabulous, whether I’m wearing a suit or blue jeans. I prefer to stay around 3″ with my heels – that is what’s comfortable to me, and it puts me almost eye-to-eye with my husband!

For me, heels are not a tool for being taller. At 5-11, heels offer a sexy addition to whatever outfit I decide to wear them with. Heels provide a finishing touch that flats and sandals just can’t provide. I can honestly say that I feel sexy and confident in a nice pair of heels. The highest pair I own so far are 4 inches.

I love wearing high heels because all of the best looking shoes have a heel. Heels also tend to look more polished whether you are at work or a social event, and I also think they make your legs look longer/leaner when you have a nice pair of heels on. I tend to go for 2-3 inch heels. I love the way they look and it’s fun to have the presence that a tall person often commands – just for being tall.

I love my heels for the same reason that non-tall females love their heels — They are cute, fashionable, and make my long legs look even longer. My highest pair of heels is around 4 inches high, which makes my total height jumpto 6-3.

I love my high heels because they are beautiful and make me feel fabulous. Quite frankly, the higher the better (within reason, that is). I am 6-0 and have been wearing high heels pretty much every day for the last six or seven years. My preferred heel is approximately four-and-a-half inches!

I love wearing high heels because they make me feel sexier. Like petite women, I like to achieve the appearance of toned legs in a skirt or dress – in jeans, heels give my butt a much-needed boost! I’m 5-11, so I try to keep my heels fairly moderate in height. Anything above 3 inches is approaching too high! I like to wear high heels that are just tall enough to achieve the desired feminine appearance.
