STOMP – Dallas, TX

Dallas Summer Musicals presents “STOMP” June 17-22 using brooms, garbage cans, and other household items and the dance troupe turns making noise into an art form. (Source: Texas Monthly).

In unrelated event news June 21 the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network Fort Worth Texas Affiliate meets from 12-2 at Cousin’s Barbecue, 5125 Bryant Irvin Road in town.

“We are making progress with plans for the benefit coming up Oct. 18,” said Virginia Griffin, volunteer coordinator for the local chapter who lost her brother, a niece, and several friends to the disease.

Through July 7 witness the creativity of the late writer Molly Ivins at the library with her namesake at the Southwestern Writers Collection in Austin. Known for her side-splitting and political satire, the controversial journalist is commemorated in this exhibit featuring her personal library, the highlights of which include her own notations, commentary, and inscriptions within her favorite books.

Hours open are Mon., Tues., and Fri. 8-5, Wed. & Thurs. 8-7, Sat. 9-5, and Sun. 2-6.

The event is free and is located on the Texas State campus, Albert B. Alkek Library, 7th Floor. From the Student Center go right on Live Oak.
