San Francisco Giants tickets can be hard to come by, and with good reason! The games are always a great show and well worth the effort in tracking down tickets. Here are some ways to make sure you get your fix of the San Francisco Giants this baseball season.
The obvious
These are some typical ways to get San Francisco Giants tickets, or tickets for any baseball game for that matter, but I would be remiss if I didn’t mention them.
1) Plan ahead and get season tickets early, as soon as they go on sale. If you can’t afford a whole season, get a group of your favorite San Francisco Giants fans together to chip in and divide up the tickets. Determine in advance how you will choose who gets to attend playoff games.
2) Buy your single-game tickets early at the box-office or a reliable ticket provider such as TicketMaster or StubHub. Again, do this as soon as tickets go on sale.
Be a baseball bum
The best way to get great tickets is to buy the ones that season pass holders cannot use, and this happens to many season ticket holders, every season without fail. How can you cash in on this to get your Giants tickets?
3) Check eBay and Craigslist often for Giants tickets for sale
4) Check around with your neighbors, co-workers, and friends who are San Francisco Giants fans. Tell them to keep an eye out for you for tickets, and even if they don’t have any for sale, they might know someone.
5) Schmooze the mail room guy in big companies. The mail room guys get around the whole building in some big buildings down there. If there are surplus Giants tickets to be had, the mail room guys will know where they are.
6) Talk to downtown San Francisco parking lot attendants – the lawyers and executives who cannot use their season tickets often tell the parking lot guys to keep an eye out for a buyer. You will often get great deals this way.
7) Search the print classifieds in San Francisco and surrounding cities – though it seems like it, the whole world is not yet on the Internet. There are some great deals to be had in the local papers.
8) Run “San Francisco Giants tickets Wanted” classifieds in the local papers, including the smaller ones such as the San Francisco Bay Guardian.
9) Run “San Francisco Giants tickets Wanted ” ads on CraigsList and eBay. However, be aware that you are likely to pay a premium on anything you are running wanted ads for, because the seller is coming to you.
10) Lastly, go for bleacher seats! Ok, we all want seats right behind home plate so we can give sound guidance to the batter, whether ours or our adversary’s, but those seats are called “premium” for a reason. The bleacher seats are loads of fun! Bring your old transistor radio to follow the parts of the game you might miss.
