I always love to hear and see Disney songs.They are classic, timeless and touching. Here’s a list of 10 greatest hits from Disney movies.

This is Elton John’s music , lyrics by Tim Rice and one of my favorite songs. A song with amazing notes and surprising music. “Circle of Life” is an Academy Award-nominated song ,sung by Carmen Twillie. It was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Song in 1995 together with two other songs from The Lion King: “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” and “Hakuna Matata”. “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” won the award.
2.When I wish upon a star
Pinocchio
In 1940 this song was written by Ned Washington and Leigh Harline, sung by Cliff Edwards. The American Film Institute ranked “When You Wish Upon A Star” 7th in their 100 Greatest Songs in Film History, the highest ranked Disney song. In Japan, Sweden, Norway and Denmark, the song has become a Christmas song, often referring to the Star of Bethlehem. It is seventh, and the highest ranking disney song on AFI’s 100 greatest songs in film history.

This song was also nominated but it lost to the other “Little Mermaid” song “Under the Sea. This song was written by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman.A finest composition.

A beautiful song written by Larry Morey and Frank Churchill , performed by Adriana Caselotti (Snow White’s voice in the movie).The song appeared 17th on AFI’s best songs in film history. The American Film Institute listed this song at #19 on their list of the 100 greatest songs in movie history. Following “When You Wish Upon A Star” from Pinocchio, this is the second highest ranked song from a Disney movie.

“Colors of the Wind” is composed by Alan Menken ,lyrics given by Stephen Schwartz .This song was the 1995 Oscar-winner for ‘Best Original Song’. It also won the ‘Golden Globe’ in the same category as well as the ‘Grammy Award’ for Best Song Written for a Movie. Wikipedia says ,this song poetically presents the Native American viewpoint that the earth is a living entity where humankind is connected to everything in nature.
8.Feed the Birds (Tuppence a Bag)

This song was written by the Sherman Brothers.According to the sources It is reputed to have been Walt Disney’s favorite song. There is a scene in this song, where a beggar women,sitting on the steps, giving bread crumbs to the locals for a tuppence and to the birds of course.The song is seriously framed and has religious overtones.

Song of the South
This song was the opening theme music for most of the Disney movies and TV shows for years.Written by Allie Wrubel and Ray Gilbert.A song wrapped in special feelings.
10.You’ll be in my heart
Tarzan
This song written by Phil Collins, won an Academy Award for Best Original Song. The song was heard in a 2009 commercial for Hallmark cards with sound.
