I fell in love with the band known as Queensryche in the 80’s. Yes, I consider this to be one of the best bands to come out of the 80’s rock era. I could tell immediately that this band’s lead singer Geoff Tate had an unearthly, yet heavenly vocal range. His vocal range was like opera meets rock. And beyond. Along with the talented guitar parts, this band truly soars heavenwards. I enjoyed. I still do. Here are my very favorite top 10 best Queensryche songs. It was very hard to choose just ten.
1. Silent Lucidity. I consider this to be a truly break through song for this very talented rock band. Silent Lucidity expresses perfectly our dream state and our awake state, and how it all comes together. This song is beautiful, peaceful and hopeful. It lets the listener know that someone is indeed watching over our sleeping dreams. Though that realm is very complicated, I admire this band for tackling this hard and misunderstood issue. This song is beautiful, in music and in lyrics. I love the peacefulness that this song leaves me with. Bravo.
2. I Don’t Believe In Love. This song is extra special and very powerful! If you watched MTV in the 1980’s, you may remember this song and the music video created for it! A blindfolded man and his story of love and the lack of unfold. He landed and tells his story beautifully. I loved the music video for this song and the song, itself! The pain of feeling love and being in love is so very well expressed in this song, it grabs you by the gut and forces you to understand. This powerful 80’s rock song brings love’s true emotions home. I love!
3. Jet City Woman. If you have ever had a long distance romance, you can relate to this passionate song! The distance and love that stays makes this song very special. From coast to coast, the feelings follow. This was a top 10 song by Queensryche. Once you hear it, you will know why. What a fantastic song!
4. Eyes Of A Stranger. Whew. This song is rock theatrical and very passionate! It lets you know that we are all strangers to ourselves until we admit who we really are, or discover our real selves and our purpose. ” I woke on impact ” is so insightful and my favorite lyrics of this song. When we wake up, we know it! The journey of being a stranger to ourselves is portrayed in this song wonderfully!
5. Bridge. Many of us come from broken families. This song addresses this aspect of life in a stunningly accurate way! I love this song because it touches on a subject that many of us have felt and lived through! It portrays the pain of being distanced from your Father and I love this song’s honesty and it’s stark reality. Such a well put song and it rocks. Bravo!
6. Real World. Though many of us will never know the true meaning of this beautiful song, it is about us discovering the real world. This song is featured on the ” Last Action Hero ” movie soundtrack in 1993. If you have the good fortune of waking from a dream, into the real world, you will love and celebrate this song. Even if you have not made this enlightening journey, you will love the message and love expressed in this beautiful Queensryche song! ” I can’t find the real world alone ” is in this song’s lyrics. That fact is so very true!
7. The Lady Wore Black. This song lets you know that the Queensryche singer has opera singing skills! The powerful vocals in this song amaze and impress me. They are beyond time. The entire band is also just as talented. This song is a must hear for Queensryche fans!
8. Another Rainy Night Without You. This is a heart wrenching and romancing love song that tears into your deepest guts. As I listen to this song, I think of my loved one and cannot help but be swept away by the loving emotion of this song! Draw your loved one near and be thankful that you can. Most of these top 10 best Queensryche songs can be found on a CD called ” The Best Of Queensryche Sign Of The Times ” and I highly recommend this CD for Queensryche fans!
