Woodward Cave

One of the largest solutional caves in Central Pennsylvania “Woodward Cave” features 5 stunning rooms that house such awe inspiring limestone rock formations as a 60 foot cathedral ceiling and a 14 foot tall stalagmite known as the “Tower of Babel.”

As of 2010 “Woodward Cave” is open from April 17th until October 3rd. Hours of operation vary by season so it is best to call in advance of one’s trip to confirm. Admission is $10.50 for adults and $5.25 for children. There is special pricing available for both school and scouting groups.

Penn’s Cave and Wildlife Park

Penn’s Cave” is distinct in that it is the only known all water cavern in American today. As such visitors can only access the cave’s inner recesses via guided one hour motorboat tours.

In addition to the cave there is an on-site wildlife park that offers 90 minute guided tours of the facility’s 1.500 acres of Pennsylvania fields and forests.

Visitors can purchase each tour separately or as a combination ticket. As of 2010 admission to the cavern is $15.95 for adults and $8.50 for children ages 2 to 12. A combination cave and park ticket is $29.95 for adults and $15.95 for children ages 2 to 12. Children under 2 are admitted to both tours for free.

Lincoln Caves and Whisper Rocks

“Lincoln Caves and Whispering Rocks” affords visitors an opportunity to visit two remarkable crystal caves in one location.

In addition to the two caves the facility offers hiking trails, picnic areas and a gem mining activity for children.

As of 2010 admission to “Lincoln Caves and Whispering Rocks” is $11.98 for those ages 13 and up and $10.98 for children ages 2 to 12. During Mid-March through November, the children’s admission ticket price includes gem mining materials (one bag of mineral rough). Tickets can be purchased in advance through the facility’s website.

Lincoln Caves and Whispering Rocks” is closed during the winter months and hours vary depending on season the rest of the year. The facility also hosts several family-friendly activities throughout the year such as the “Bat Fest” and “Ghosts and Goblins” Tour.
