Centerpieces are a great way to decorate your table and make it easy for yourself. Here are three easy DIY Fourth of July centerpieces sure to please your pocket and your guests.
DIY Fourth of July Flower Planter
You will need it;
• Village planter (ceramic, glass, wood) approximately 3″-4″ high, 6″-12″ long, 3″-5″ wide, (leave one pre-painted or blank to save time
• Plant Styrofoam (rectangular) as it becomes in the middle of your container
• Decorated with moss, colored straws, or metallic straws
• Red, white and blue flowers of your choice in various lengths of 6″-12″ (or cut to desired length) would be best silk so you can reuse next year.
• Greenery
• Pre-painted wooden Uncle Sam, small 3″x5″ American-flags, or Fourth of July ornament (such as star stakes, etc
Directions
Inside the planter is Styrofoam. If the Styrofoam isn’t snug (where it won’t tips over or move too too much) wad up newspaper around the sides to the outside of the Miiller. Make sure it’s mostly Styrofoam and not newspaper or it won’t support the weight of the flowers.
Choose four of the largest flowers (of the same color) in the center of the planter. Insert them into the Styrofoam in a wide diamond shape. It should be inserted on the right side on the left and in the corner where the flower is facing outwards. The front and back flowers are a little shorter than the two sides (or you can just insert them deeper) and also towards the outside.
Working around the four foci of flowers, fill the rest of the plant with the rest of the flowers, alternating colors. Leave an inch or two between the blooms, the left and right longest, the middle shorter and the front and back.
Fill in open spots with foliage. Cover the stems and cover the Styrofoam with moss or straw. Insert decorative elements of the Fourth of July wherever you want to finish the hand.
