The Evolv Rockstar was the first climbing shoe I ever owned and it was a good buy. This review will help you decide if the shoe would be a good buy for you.
Shoe
Rockstar is one of women’s shoes. Not only women can use it. Anyone with a narrow foot profile should be fine with the Rockstar, and some women with wide feet will probably be better off with men’s climbing shoes . Rockstar straight shoe, narrow toe, asymmetrical profile. It has a synthetic upper with a more comfortable cotton lining, and a 1.1 mm midsole. It was born to be a comfortable, all-around performance climbing shoe. In 2004 it won the Editor’s Choice as “Best Women’s Climbing Shoes” from both Rock & Ice Magazine and Climbing Magazine. Evolv Rockstar retails for $89.
My Experience
These were the first pair of shoes I bought, and like most people on their first try, I made a few purchases. These shoes are a little narrower than ideal for me, although I didn’t notice that before. I also got these shoes half a size too tight, and with the synthetic uppers they didn’t stretch at all. After my first gym session with them, I thought my heels would always be great. Fortunately, it accommodated my feet, and I could still enjoy these shoes for a while.
Rockstar shoe is all good. It does everything honestly, but it does some things better. I found Rockstar to be pretty good at the margin, but it didn’t end up encouraging. The narrow toe profile was quite useful when moving them into thin cracks, and they were quite comfortable when digging larger cracks. They were weaker in horizontal journeys than in vertical ones; On overhanging routes I found them sometimes falling off the bulwarks, while on technical, vertical routes they provided me with great security on very narrow margins. In the end, I liked Rockstar enough to have my own match plan, and I probably would have released them again if I hadn’t lost half the match somewhere.
Bottom Line
I would recommend the Rock to anyone with a narrow foot who wants a good all around climbing shoe. Rockstar is best suited for vertical face and rock climbing. With a moderate fit, comfortable-shoes”>would make a comfortable all-day or multi-pitch shoe. Rockstar is also a good choice for a beginner he exhibited, and he also exhibited at an advanced election.
