ThermaCare VS. IcyHot

Having spent a combined eight hours over a two-day period assembling the gas grill singularly, it was no wonder my elbows were screaming from the tendinitis I’d been living with for years. We normally use ThermaCare, but since both elbows needed support, I decided to get the products. I tried a similar IcyHot product and was disappointed. This time I decided to try and compare the IcyHot Medicated Sleeve to the tried and true ThermaCare. I used IcyHot on my right elbow where the pain was worse, ThermaCare on my left as a control. I already knew how well it works. If IcyHot could cure the pain in my right elbow, I might just have to reconsider the pain relief charity of choice. At the time of this test, the pain level in my left elbow was about five, and the pain in my right elbow was about 7.5. nor could I fully extend my arm.

IcyHot® is a product from Chattem, Inc., the active ingredient being menthol. When you open the package, the medicine is outside the sleeve. It is placed on the appendix (it can be used on the arms and legs), then it is rolled in on itself so that it is a medicine against the skin. Chat provides pictures for ease of understanding. This in itself is a big improvement over the medication patch I was doing before. Although I thought it was a drug from the outside, not having a lot of space in the sleeve, so it wouldn’t be a mess. I was wrong. I got menthol medicine on my hands hands, which then required washing. I slurped the menthol, and tore the medication sleeve by sleeve. If a sleeve is worn, the menthol stains the garment.

ThermaCare® is a product from Proctor & Gambling The product contains pellets of coal, table salt, iron, and water. The cells become active and produce heat when they come into contact with air.

Thirty minutes after applying both products, I found both were advertised. IcyHot® starts cold, although the heat is not felt differently than when BENGAY® is applied; it can also be said that the heat is less intense than with BENGAY®. it still smelled like menthol, and my dog left my side because the smell was so strong. ThermaCare® took approximately 30 minutes to warm up.

An hour later, both products reduced my discomfort. The movement of the elbow joints was good for both, although the IcyHot® was noticeably less bulky, which allowed for easier movement, and could be worn under clothing without being noticeable. However, I used the scent as a certain sign. The lack of heat intensity is considered good. A stronger connection can be used for a long time as it burns because the amount used cannot be controlled. and yet I cannot reach fully either way.

Five hours later the heat level of both products was about the same. The ThermaCare® arm was less comfortable than the IcyHot® arm probably due to differences in design. Remember, IcyHot® weighs much less than ThermaCare. At that time I was able to fully extend my left arm (ThermaCare®). I could not stretch my right arm as soon as I applied IcyHot®.

To see if it was IcyHot or if I was just having a bad bout of tendinitis, I wrapped the new ThermaCare for five hours the next day. The same thing happened. I still couldn’t fully extend my arm. It appeared that it was not because of the IcyHot product.

The price for IcyHot was better, $7.99 for a box of three ($2.66 each), while ThermaCare was $7.39 for a box of two ($3.70 each).

Since both products worked equally well, ultimately the choice is with pain: less and when you live. you will smell, or more, they return without any smell. If the maker of IcyHot comes with a product with no scent, I’m inclined to switch. The difference in price makes up for the need to wash my hands when applying the product and also the possibility. it stains clothes, but does not smell.
