A custom cabinet is a great touch to any room in your home. There are so many ways to design one that I could write a series of books on designing cabinets. The custom cabinet I would like to share with you is very easy. Before you make your custom cabinet there are a few things you need to consider in its design. The first of these is how wide of an area you want this cabinet to cover. Secondly, as far as this can be, so that it can still touch the furniture at the top of it. The third thing is to determine how high you want to become. The fourth item is so important to think about, and in fact is the main reason for building it. This is the reason for building the cabinet. Do you just put books in it? Will the magazine be part of the furniture in the closet? Is there a future in that knick-knacks? How much of these things – books, magazines, etc. – are you storing in your wardrobe?
Stay! Not everyone! Do you want to paint or stain it? Do you want a new crust? Do you want to put stenciled plans? You see a lot of planning to set up boxes. So you decide what you need when building a custom cabinet.
Going forward with the customer’s boxes I have in mind I will need a few tools. A general custom cabinet will guide you through and will require the following tools:
Hammer nails (16 oz)
Box of 1 1/2″ long finished nails (4d)
Box of 3/4″ nails
the nail of the new
He saw the crosscut
Square (“L” shaped device for straight lines)
Tape measure.
You need this stuff;
4 1″ x 12″ x 6′ lengths of wood
1 1″ x 4″ x 2′ length of wood
1 3/16″ Masonite cutting board two feet wide by 5′-4″ long
Sandpaper – mixed set
Either two cans of flat or glossy white paint or a pint of paint in a can will do.
Wood putty
Plastic drop cloth or old newspaper
lead
The first thing I’m going to do is cut the two six foot boards into lengths 5′-4″ high. Yes, you can have the masonite boards cut 1/6″ shorter in width and length if you so desire. not as visible on the sides and top. After you cut the boards, sand the edges well and smooth the surface enough to smooth them. Go ahead and spray paint dry them white on one side. Hopefully you’ll be doing this outside, so paint the inside of your home.
The next step is to cut the wood from the two remaining boards, which are still six feet long. He will cut this part so that it is exactly two feet in length. A little less than four feet left, cut another board exactly 1′-10 1/2″ long.
Why? Well, I hope you know that the wood that is supposed to be one inch thick is actually 3/4″ thick. That means if you double it all in two 1 1/2″, that means this second board is much shorter than two feet. Did you get it? Sand the edges of both boards well, and sand the surface smooth. Now you can paint these two panels.
When these four panels are painted on both sides, take them from each side and place them as if you were looking at a cabinet placed on the floor. This way they must be on the edge. Take a board two feet long at the end of those boards, place it on its edge, and fasten it to the two boards. You are now in the top position.
Take a board shorter than the one you cut and painted, place it between the side boards, and use a 1″ x 4″ guide board so you know exactly how much you need on the sides of the shelf. Only fix the upper part in both places. Using a square, align the shelf so that it is flat across the side panels so that you can mark and pin the bottom of the shelf on the other side.
You are so close to getting it done. Holding the 1″ x 4″ board in place, see if it fits well. Lightly press that sand and paint it. Both painted and dried, pin in place. This piece does not fit between the side panels because it keeps the cabinet from tipping over. Therefore, it is fixed at the bottom of the box in front.
Now all you have left is the second layer and the back panel.
There are two ways to determine where your shelves will be located. Divide the internal dimension, 4′-11 1/4″, by the number of holes you want for the books, and taking into account the width of the piles. I think five spaces, which means four shelves. You have left in the material.
Four slices will be 3″ thick. Three inches from 4′-11 1/4″ is 4′-8 1/4″. That measurement for each space will end up with 11 1/4″. This is where your square will come in handy. Stand up on the cabinet and make a mark at 11 1/4″ from the bottom of the shelf. Then mark 3/4″. Repeat this process three more times, and you are sealed from one side. The same on the contrary. Use your square to draw a straight line from each note. This is your guide as to where to fix them in place.
Go ahead and cut your shelves from the rest of the wood so that they are the exact length of the bottom of the bottom, 1′-10 1/2″. Sand and paint these parts. When they are dry, you can nail them in place.
Paint the masonry on the left side, and move it to the back with the smaller nails. Place the nails again and carefully sides, front and top about 1/16″ of the title. Inch maximum. painting”>above enough paint to putty.
You may not have an album, which is fine with me, but what you want, as I said. This project will take about a day when you need the paint to dry. Fast drying paint will reduce the time you will have on this project.
