Stoner Terminology 101

When I first began to hang out on my counters, I often heard them speak and did not understand many of the words they used. I was embarrassed when I was asked a question that I could not answer, such as: “Do they smoke Haze?” or “What cop: Nicks, Dimes or O’s?”. It took me a while, but finally I got the lingo down. In honor of the ascension and arrival of the stone holiday on April 20th, I decided to make this easy to use glossary to help my non-stone friends understand. COMPREHENSIVE STONE TERMINOLOGY CI!

First we have to start with the basics, these are the terms that you simply need to know in order to be able to square with any group of stones.

420 – This seemingly simple number (pronounced “twenty four”) is the cornerstone of stone culture. Its origin has been debated to this day. 420 either refers to the best time to smoke (ie 4:20 pm or am) or depending on its use, the code may refer to the marijuana itself. Bong- The exact method of smoking marijuana through a pipe with water in it

Pipe- An easy-to-use smoking device with no paper used Sometimes Pipe can also refer to a bag.

The third thing is to learn the terminology surrounding the purchase of marijuana, there’s a lot of street lingo here and there that’s sure to be about climbing stone circles.

Cop, score- To buy seaweed

Nick, Nickle- 0.5 P. Marijuana can also refer to the money spent on this amount of weed, usually 5 dollars

Dime- 1/16 part and ounce of marijuana can also be referred to the money spent on this amount of weed, usually 10 dollars

O- An ounce of marijuana

Baggie- bag of marijuana (usually plastic)

Dub– Twenty tons of marijuana

To exist, it is crucial to learn the words that actually smoke marijuana this is because when the rock is finally hanging someone is going to say something like “Hey yall wanna burn?”

Burn, Toke, Set Up, Smoke, Burn, Stoned- Get Stoned- All these and inherently cheaper smoking marijuana

Finally, you need to learn the conditions that apply to marijuana and the potential out there.

Haze- High potency and expensive marijuana

Freeze-land- Content Dro Marijuana

Northern Lights- A great strain of marijuana

Purple Haze- A very strong dark variety popular song of the same name by Jimmy Hendrix

Diesel, Sour Diesel, Sour- Strong mourning marijuana

Kush- Heavy throwing marijuana that originated in India

Widow-Widow- The strongest type of weed known to man! It is rarely ever found outside Holland where marijuana is legal but I always mention it stone by stone

G-13- The mythological theme of marijuana from the U.S. govt in 1970 allegedly developed incredible power.

Well, now you have the foundations, because I have left all the works, and I take all the terms of the year. Go, therefore, rejoice with your stone-making friends, and show them what you have learned.
