The HiB Vaccine: What the Manufacturer’s Insert Tells Us

HiB, or Haemophilus influenza type b, used to be the most common cause of meningitis in children between 6 months and 4 years of age. HiB Vaccine Ingredients

In very high concentrations ethanol produces general anesthesia; a man will be very drunk when he sleeps and wakes up with great difficulty, and if he wakes up, he cannot move of his own accord.

Each dose contains 225 mcgaluminum hydroxide, especially for “relief of upset stomach, heartburn, and peptic ulcers, and to promote the healing of peptic ulcers,” according to Medline Plus. Ambien side effects include “constipation, hunger, confusion, unusual tiredness or discomfort, and muscle weakness.

HiB Vaccine Efficacy

The HiB vaccine package included in the studies cites the vaccine as putting it at about 93%.

Earlier versions of the HiB vaccine were found by the Institute of Medicine to suppress the immune system for seven days after the injection was administered, leading to more cases of HiB infection. The National Vaccine Information Center elaborates: “The combined Hib vaccines currently used are thought to be more effective, leaving children less vulnerable to Hib disease shortly after vaccination. The IOM report stated, “Because immunization with Hib vaccine can lead to a temporary decrease in the levels of antibody protection, immune children at increased risk of colonization (family or daily contact with individuals with recent cases of Hib infection) require special measures.’ One Hib vaccine manufacturer states, “Rare reports in the Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS) of Hib disease following full primary immunization”…

In 1995, of 74 Hib disease cases where age and vaccination status were known, 41 or 55 percent received at least one Hib shot; 22 most appropriately vaccinated because of age; and 18 had completed the first series.

Meningitis Bacteria

Although the HiB vaccine is most effective against this type of bacteria, meningitis can be caused in a number of different ways. Many people with bacteria living in their nose and throat carry around meningitis and rarely develop the disease. Most of us develop natural immunity this way. When we see the numbers for HiB vaccine, the numbers for HiB-related meningitis, we don’t see all types of meningitis.

In his book Just a Little Prick, Hilary Butler reports “In Finland, Belgium and Sweden after the use of the HiB vaccine, haemophilus declined and the rates of pneumococcal infections increased”. American researchers reported similar results. In his native New Zealand, a unique form of Meningococcal B has emerged to fill the gap left by Haemophilus influenzae.

HiB Vaccine Precautions

The package insert advises that epinephrine and other relevant treatments are available in case of anaphylactic shock.

As previously stated, the insert also warns that “cases of HiB disease can occur in the week after vaccination, before the onset of the vaccine’s protective effects.”

Included is this statement, also found in other vaccine packages: “Liquid PedVaxHIB has not been evaluated for its carcinogenic, mutagenic potential or impairment of fertility” and “Nothing is known whether it can harm the fetus when administered to a pregnant woman or affect reproductive capacity.” This way, no one knows if these vaccines cause cancer or make people sterile, and no one has done any studies to find out.

HiB Vaccine Adverse Reactions

It is difficult for anyone to determine adverse reactions to the HiB vaccine because it is almost never given by itself. Usually the baby or child will also receive DTaP (Diphtheria, Tetanus and Pertussis) and IPV (Injected Polio Vaccine) at the same visit.
