There are camping trails in Acadia National Park that the whole family is sure to enjoy. Before you set off on your camping trip, there are several things you will need to do to make sure you are fully prepared for your destination. There are two main bells to choose from as I follow you in the middle of Acadia National Park. Seawall Campground and Blackwoods are two of the main state run parks. Blackwood is the most popular. Below are five tips that can help you get through the process of getting ready to camp at Blackwood Campground. The tips below may not be everything, but they are enough to get you started with your gear for a camping trip to Acadia.
1. No place on the site
The first thing you need to consider is that there are no showers on site at the site. Blackwood Campground. They have toilets and only cold living water. Also, you will not find soap or paper-towels to clean your hands in the bathroom area. This means that you will have to wash your hands by your own means. If you have little ones, it’s a good idea to have Lily’s own hand sanitizing wipes or disinfectant available for emergency use. You can also have a container of hand soap and paper towels already cut and folded. Keep them handy in your fields so you can get to them quickly. The showers themselves are located on the road from the campground. It is literally a one minute drive from the campground. When leaving the campground from the entrance just make sure to turn right and you will see the showers on your left. You’ll need rain gear to make sure you’re fully equipped. They have a change machine on site so no need to worry about getting parts.
2. Without wood, free is not the best
Blackwoods Campground will offer you free camping gear throughout the day. These obviously have limitations so that everyone can benefit. Remember, however, that the wood does not always protect the roofs of the wood, if it rains, or even when the wood is wet, and does not shine in the plains. There are many places to buy firewood within a short distance of the campground that will cost you as little as $3 a bundle. They keep most of the wood covered to prevent moisture from reaching it. If you use firewood to cook your meals, make sure you stock up on dry wood. Use a tarp to cover your wood at the campsite to try and keep it dry. Or perhaps a better idea is to bring an empty storage bin into the wood. So you can keep the storage closed and the wood will stay dry until you want to use it.
3. It cannot take your place
One negative aspect of Blackwood Campground is that you cannot choose your campsite. Although there are exceptions to be made in order to get the level at all, they will be assigned to you when you first arrive at the level and click on. This way you can finally be further away from the bathroom than you hoped. If you have younger children who need a portable toilet, you should hike with the kids to the bathroom within midnight. Please also note the size of your tent when making a reservation. Some campsites are smaller than others, and what you’re assigned seems to vary depending on the size of your tent.
4. Not much privacy
One thing you will quickly notice about this camp is that the campsites are very close to each other. This means that you can clearly see your neighbor and in most cases hear everything they say. However, remember that setting up a campsite can give you at least a little privacy. If you go before or after the peak season which is before the end of June or after September 2 nd, you will probably have a lot more privacy.
5. Prepare at the first sunrise
One thing you might not think about when planning your camping trip is how the sun rises in the morning in Acadia National Park. If you can only sleep when it’s dark, you’ll want to bring something to cover your eyes. He got up at about 4:00am, which is pretty early for a must. Unless you get a cloudy day, you can expect to hear many birds, very early in the morning and you will feel your tent warmed by the warmth of the sun.
