EBay has been one of the top five most successful Internet sites since the dawn of Internet commerce. Since it’s beginning in 1995, EBay has hosted over 2 billion auctions. EBay has products selling in over 7,800 categories and has over 40 million registered users. Anyone can find something to sell on eBay. You can walk into any thrift shop or stop by any garage sale and find something to sell on eBay.
Kid’s clothing sells great on eBay. The key is to make sure the garment is of good quality and to take really good digital photos of the item. People like to see what they are buying. Look for clothing that is clean, stain free and in good condition. If you can find brand names like, Baby Gap, Osh Kosh, Nike etc… Even better, the same goes for kids shoes. If you can find them in good shape and for a bargain at a garage sale, chances are you can resell them.
Another thing you can look for are children’s toys. Go to eBay and look around a little and you will get a sense of what toys are selling the best. Try to find those toys. If you ever find vintage toys and they are in pretty good shape and a good price, snatch them up. They’ll usually sell. Just remember the old saying, ones person’s junk is another person’s treasure.
Buy some stuff at first to get your feedback up to at least 15 before selling. And don’t sell expensive things at first; most buyers are afraid to purchase expensive items until you get your feedback rating up a bit. And be sure to keep you feedback rating at 100% if you can by responding to your buyers quickly and fairly. Just remember on EBay, you are charged for putting up your auction and also a final value fee for when it sells, and they just raised their prices, Usually the buyer pays for the shipping, your best bet, along with all the information given, is to go look at other auctions, and see how they handle shipping, what prices they ask for items, etc. Especially if you find something like what you want to sell, you will get a lot of information on what to price your items at
Make sure there is a need for the item that you are selling. Do a search for your item and see how many items are found for your keyword search. Examine each auction and see the bid amount and number of bids. Follow a number of auctions for several days and see what the final bid is. This will give you an excellent idea if there is a need for your item. It will also help you estimate the amount of profit you can make from the auction. If you don t find your item, it might not be worth your time listing that item. Try to find an item that people truly want.
If you are selling a collectible, please make sure that you list it in the collectible category. If you are listing a toy or hobby, please make sure that you list it in the Toy and Hobbies Category. This could make it easier for people to find your item. Do your homework? Search for your item and see what categories other sellers listed the same item in.
Use the appropriate keywords to describe your product. If you are selling a Barbie Doll, specify the type of doll it is. Your descriptions are critical to avoid any future problems or potential returns. Honesty is the best policy. If there is a chip, crack or dent, say this in the description. This could save you a lot of aggravation later on. If a buyer truly wants your item, a crack or chips won t stop them from bidding on your item.
EBay stores are by far the best listing value on EBay. A 30-day listing will cost you very little. Not only will this allow you to have all of your items listed all of the time for little money, but will also show up in search engines on the Internet such as Google and Yahoo. An EBay store will also greatly heighten the image of a professional business. Your customer will be able to browse through your store and be looking at only your items. Whatever you choose, the EBay Store comes with a 30-day trial.
You can list your items on EBay by using eBay’s standard listing form. The good news is that using it’s free (other than eBay’s listing fees, of course). They have some options, that will allow you to make your auctions more attractive, but they do charge a fee for every listing.
You need to list auctions in order to drive traffic to your EBay store. Listing auctions costs a little more money than the store listings and they are only run for 3-10 days. They are needed however, because this is how people will find you and your great new store. We suggest you start by listing 10 or so of the items that you feel are most likely to sell. It’s no fun to spend your profit on listing fees, however just because an item doesn’t sell the first time you list it, don’t decide to never list it again. Try changing the category or the title on an item that isn’t selling as well as you think it should, sometimes this makes a world of difference. Once you find the items that are selling, continue adding more items to the auction. The items that are not selling too well just leave them in your store. Listing items in an auction is done the same way as listing in your store except you choose Sell item at online Auction or Sell at a Fixed Price instead of Sell in Store Inventory.
Lots of people are making a lot of money selling stuff on EBay but it takes know how and persistence to really make a lot at it.
