ABC, CBS Post Raw Luge Death Video

ABC decided to go after the raw luge film of the Olympic tragedy that took place next week. The incident led to the death of a young Olympic hopeful from Georgia ahead of the opening ceremonies of the Winter Games in Vancouver.

To see the ABC video of the fall of the luge, you can click this link. You must be warned that the video is graphic and ABC aired shortly before the luge video aired. “Warning: The following footage is graphic in nature,” says an ABC disclaimer before the controversial raw luge video. “Discretion is seen as a decision.”

The entire clip of the luge crash video runs in less than 30 seconds. I had yet to see the Olympic crash video until I stumbled upon it while looking for other related news on the ABC website. I find it horrifying to see a luge death video placed at all.

CBS also has a short video clip of the luge tragedy here.

It seems that the Olympic plan proved to be the best to keep the video luge tragedy from happening. YouTube yanked Controversial video death luger Nodar Kumaritashvili on the day of the incident.

Is this video going to be streamed and watched by millions? It seems to predominate in the bac supply demand. Too many people searched for the luge tragedy video and probably ended up posting it on various websites. I was kind of hoping that Luge would disappear from the Olympics.

The problem with this luge tragedy video is that people are curious to see if the design of the track was at fault. Was this the inevitable death of a young Olympic hopeful? If you’re like me, the luge tragedy video probably won’t tell you much. It happened so quickly that even a slow-motion replay wouldn’t tell you if Nodar Kumartiashvili had survived a more complete track. It’s amazing to me that anyone can pick up that much speed on a relative start and be called safe for it. Unfortunate is he who dies pursuing Olympic medals.
Luges video will forever stick in the mind of many Olympics like what happened during the 2010 games. It is a time that many of us remember when we are much older and you hear about the 2010 Games.

Then there are people who have a perverse curiosity to see what death actually looks like. I’ve talked about the band in previous articles about this luge video and I think that’s the item that scares me the most.
Society can watch this video in huge numbers because of the backlash from this incident. While we all watch the sad video, it’s just another blip on the radar of the horrible mistakes I’ve seen in the television age. Let’s hope the family of Nodar Kumaritashvili will not allow the clip thanks to the abundance on the Internet now.
