AIM 6.1 is the next generation of instant messaging software. This is basically straight from AIM’s website, but it’s really the next generation of instant messaging software. With people complaining about annoying bugs and annoying features that didn’t really work, the developers and makers of AOL Instant Messenger listened to all the complaints and problems the final version of AIM had. Personally, I still use the first version of AIM, but I have a new one on my computer. Sometimes it takes time and it’s easy.
Some of the new features that can be found in AIM 6.1 are “Image Buddy Info”. This feature allows the user to add a photo to their buddy list, which will show them on their friend list. Painting is a great way to show your personality, so using one is not such a bad idea. Now, you can change the color of the buddy list window as often as you like. There are nine different colors that you can choose from.
A feature that AOL (America Online) used in the past is now available only in the latest version of AIM. If you are offline and feel like people are trying to get in touch with you, then activate the “Online IMs” feature, which will allow you to receive IMs while you are offline.
With all these new features comes the issue of bugs and such, but strangely AIM stuck to their word. There really aren’t many bugs to worry about with the new features of AIM 6.1. One thing that is really similar with AIM 6.1 is the “PC to PC Chat” feature, which allows AIM 6.1 users to communicate via voice to another member using AIM 6.1. I find the sound quality to be very good, even for MSN Messenger, which is a rival messenger to AIM. If you are tired of typing, you can move this job.
People used to look at the regular profiles of other people and their friends. In fact, this is one of the most popular features of AIM, but what can developers do to make this feature better? “AIM Pages” brings the profile experience to another level as you can add a lot of information about yourself.
Basically, AIM will add some questions about yourself that you can answer. Unlike a regular profile page, you can add pictures, videos, music and much more. You can add your friends and family who then refresh your page. You may invite others who use AIM 6.1 to create a page similar to yours.
While I will continue to use the original version of AIM, I will probably upgrade to the new version very soon. I really enjoy AIM and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in sharing it with their friends and family. You can download the software here at http://www.aim.com/.
