Airborne and Zicam are two of the most popular cold home remedies on the market today. You’ve probably seen the television commercial. Both claim to be good at warding off the common cold if you take their products on the spur of the moment. But the question is, do they really work?
I’ve been healthy this winter – knock on wood – so I didn’t think much about these two products until recently when my best friend John returned from a vacation in the Bahamas. On the first day back in the snowy Ohio storm, she began to feel symptoms of a nasty cold coming on. . And as its seeds began to grow stronger and multiply, they unfortunately migrated into me.
So when the weekend and the inhabitants of my house deserted me, we decided to set up a nice living room. We followed the old advice on treating a cold: drink plenty of liquids and plenty of rest. And we plan to use some remedy let’s catch a cold by staying inside out of the winter weather and watching movies. sem.
Before we started our winter activities, we ventured into the nearby Kruger to collect our cold fighting gear. We decided we needed plenty of fruit juices, Tylenol™, maybe some syrup, cold pills, and plenty of tissues.
While browsing through cold remedies, we came across a box of Airborne™ Effervescent Health Tablets. Ark said that if you put one of these tablets in water and drink it at the first sign of cold, it will not hurt. I also recommend that you repeat the dose every three hours until your symptoms disappear. Airborne™ is a natural formula of Vitamin C, herbs and zinc.
At the same time, John Zica was reading the cold Remedies box. Like Airborne™, Zicam™ claims to be a homeopathic product that will reduce the duration of a cold. Taken at the first signs, this product is claimed to help your health with milder symptoms.
Since John and I have both used homeopathic remedies in the past, we decided to give both products a try. The price of the Airborne was about ten bucks.
We went back to my house to fight off our colds. John used Zicam™. This product offers different formulations, and she -unfortunately- chose the oral spray. The four parts are called the inside of the mouth, the roof of the mouth, the sides, and the gums. When you have John
partial plates, he had to remove them before spraying Zicam™ in his mouth. He gave up the hassle. The product also left a strong metallic aftertaste in the mouth. We designed the product after tasting the main ingredients, Gluconic Zinc 1X and Zinc Acetate 2X.
I decided to try Airborne™. It was easy to drink, and the taste wasn’t too bad if you like Alka-Seltzer, which I don’t. But then again, we figured if these two cool remedies worked, all the hassle and expense should be worth it.
After taking two homeopathic medicines, he developed severe colds. Even though I was buried under the mountain with blankets and comforters, I felt like I was sitting naked at the North Pole. His eyes trembled. Another hour or two passed, and I decided not to take any more Airborne maps when the time came.
Fortunately, the cold finally subsided and I was no longer cold. I’m relieved…for now. It was late in the evening by that time, so John laid me on my bed and I went to bed. And that is when the two begin: my body is heated like an oven. Another was two or three hours doubling in fluids and applying cold compresses to my head until the fever finally passed.
John took her Zica for two days, then the hassle and metallic taste in his mouth. Overall, though, he gave the homeopathic product the thumbs up. That
after three or four days his cold was almost gone.
The next time Jean feels a cold coming on, use Zicam™ in one of its other forms.
Zicam™ buy nasal swabs or nasal spray,
I, on the other hand, could not figure out that going into the Airborne™ had brought me severe chills and fevers. The duration of my cold has also been shortened, but it is going through
Hell sure wasn’t worth it!
Airborne™ contains Sodium, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Riboflavin,
Magnesium, Cadmium, Selenium, Manganese, Potassium, Echinacea, Ginger, and Amino Acids. I take the exact same vitamin every day, and I also take spodium and the rest of the list without any adverse effect. Maltodextrin is simply carbohydrates made from natural corn starch. That could not be a problem. Therefore, Lonicera, Forsythia, Schizonepeta, Chinese Vine, or Isatis Root, must have unpleasant effects.
So how did the “Airborne™ vs. Zicam™” matchup turn out? Zicam™ wins both of our votes! Next time I feel a cold coming on, I’ll use Zicam™ too!
Note: Check the internet for money-saving ways to buy Zicam™ with your local drug stores.
