Going to the movies is something kids love to do, but with tickets these days (not to mention the cost of snacks and drinks at the theater), it’s not something most families can afford to do very often. Well, thanks to AMC Theaters, families in many cities can enjoy a different movie each week at their local theater – for free!
AMC theaters invite kids, families, camp groups, or other organizations to their AMC Summer Movie Camp. Participating theaters are located in several cities across the nation–Cleveland, OH; Atlanta, GA; Baltimore, MD; Boston, MA; Charlotte, NC; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; Detroit, MI; Indianapolis, IN; Los Angeles, CA; Miami, FL; New Orleans, LA; New York, NY; Omaha, NE; Phoenix, AZ; Philadelphia, PA; Seattle, WA; Tulsa, OK; besides many things. AMC has an AMC Film Camp program in which a different children’s movie is shown in theaters every Wednesday of the summer, from June 27 through August 15 (excluding July 4). Here are some upcoming movies to watch;

AMC Theatres states on its website that the schedule and movies are subject to change; however, it is not likely.
If you have a group that would enjoy going to the theater for a movie–maybe a summer camp group or a Boy Scout or Boy Scout Scout Troop?– You can reserve free tickets one week in advance of the movie showing you want to attend. Otherwise, if it’s just a parent or caregiver and a few kids, all you have to do is just watch the show at the theater. All movies from 10 p.m. start, but you’ll want to try to get to the theater early–there’s sure to be a lot of , so you want to be sure you can get a seat. Imagine your kids’ disappointment if there aren’t any seats left by the time you arrive – that only motivates you to plan to be there early!
During the AMC Summer Camp, AMC Theaters are offering a special AMC KidsPack for children to enjoy at the movies. The price is $3.00 and includes one small drink, one small popcorn, and a kid size snack – a child gets to have a snack and a drink. This is a lot cheaper than any other way of getting snacks and drinks! For an additional $1.00, the KidsPack Snack can be upgraded from kids size to regular size candy, again of the child’s choosing.
To make fun of the ultimate movie experience even beyond the theater, AMC has two figures in its lineup. website that parents or caregivers can print out for kids to enjoy. Movie related formats include “Movie Maze” and “Word Quest”. Other activities may be added in the future.
