Well, the multitudes, let them rest easy at last; the American Idol Season 8 Top 10 has been revealed. While there are some surprises with how things were handled on yesterday’s show and tonight, there really isn’t much of a surprise. While I was talking about what kind of spot Alexis Grace wanted, it could be that her backstory is so fantasy-like, it’s actually likely to be extinguished byAmerican Idol‘s top brass. The kick was when Alexis Grace was “considered” for a potential “save” card… only for the judges to unanimously decide against her.
So the top ten American Idols are as follows: Adam Lambert, Anoop Desai, Danny Gokey, Kris Allen, Lil Rounds, Matt Giraud, Megan Joy Corkrey, Scott MacIntyre, Michael Sarver, and Allison Iraheta.
This round of eliminations was quite grueling because only the top ten finalists who go on the “American Idol” summer tour, showing all their talents in venues all over the place. This is important because you no longer need to win the first prize on American Idol to still have foundation support; both from the fans of the show, the tour, and from the record label when you can take the road and really let your act shine. In a way, it can almost be better for the people who aren’t winners, because the less scrutiny thrown at the other nine finalists eases the tension for a while.
