Every morning after my school, the old school children walk into their station, which is about 300 yards from my house. Alas, in Alaska, we spend most of the winter in the dark, until 8:45 in the morning. We also occasionally run into moose, so it is essential to carry a good flashlight with me. Not only so that we can see where we are going, but so that other cars on the road can see us.
I spent an industrial flashlight two years ago at the $65 level, and I was a little disappointed with it, but I recently ran across They have LED flashlights at my local Fred Meyer store, and I was so impressed with them that I bought four of them!
Description
These lamps were shown in the picture shown in the film, and they did not come in a plastic case, but just stood in a cardboard case. They come in red, blue and silver colors and are quite small. They measure 3 1/2″ in length and are 1″ in diameter.
The AmPro flashlight is made from machined aluminum and seems to be durable. The center of the unit is lightweight, with the words AmPro printed on it. Others have a diamond-pattern finish, giving the lamp some dimension and depth.
The unit requires three AAA batteries, which are held in place unlike any other flashlight I’ve ever seen. Replace the batteries, simply twist the end of the battery, and the black cartridge will come out. This cartridge holds three batteries that snap securely into place.
What makes this AmPro flashlight so brilliant is that it has nine LEDs, one in the center and eight more around the circle. for the house or garage. The product has a working life of over 100,000 hours!
My Experience
When I picked up the flashlight in the store, the salesperson warned me not to shine it in his direction. He said that people did it and he was blind. There is indeed a warning on the part of the lamp that warns that lights LED light can harm your eyes; that you should not look directly into the ted lights. You must not make eye contact with anyone.
There is no visible plate on this small light, but the end of it has a black rubberized ball with nubs on it to help you get a good grip on in case your hands are cold and wet. This continuously turns on nine led lights.
For your convenience, there is a hole in the end of the aluminum lamp that would allow you to put a chain through it, so that it can be taken from a bag, a bag, a jacket, etc.
I’m surprised that this awesome lamp cost only $4.40 because it’s almost as bright as my favorite lamp! Now when we go to the station, I let my two older children carry an AmPro 9 LED flashlight. A boy in the front row carries one, then a boy in the back of the line. No one is going to come and see us in the dark! It is sturdy enough that this lamp can be adjusted in just about any way, and it certainly looks and feels like it will last for many years.
If you are looking for a powerful flashlight, I recommend looking for the AmPro line of LED flashlights. Excellent, and affordable.
