An Easy to Make Spanish Rice Recipe

Spanish rice is my favorite rice recipe at home. It’s a warm, hearty meal that keeps you warm during the colder months. I don’t expect fall or winter to do that, though. We love to eat all year round. I’ve used the same easy Spanish rice recipe for years. Instead of cooking on the stove, I make mine in a crock pot. I put it in the morning so that it is ready for dinner. As with the easiest crockpot recipes, all you usually do is mix the ingredients together. Set the cooking temperature and transform the pot into delicious Spanish rice. Cook dinner and you’re free to write!

Spanish Rice Recipe

2 pounds ground beef (or ground turkey)
1 large onion
2 green peppers
1 large can of diced tomatoes
tomato sauce
1 cup tap water
2 teaspoons chili powder
1-1/2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons Wigorn sauce
1 cup of converted rice

Instructions for the Spanish Rice recipe

Step 1- Brown the ground beef in a pan. Put a strainer and drain it with grease. For this recipe, instead of rice, I also soaked the beef in water to remove even more grease. Allow a little water to drain from the meat.

Step 2- While the beef is standing, cut the onions and peppers to make the Spanish rice easy. Place the chopped herbs in a crock pot with the tomatoes, sauce and water.

Step 3-
Stir in the ingredients in the Spanish recipe for easy layering. Add the Wigorn sauce. Stir-fry in and beef in

Step 4-
Cover and cook your pot on the “low” setting and cook the Spanish rice for about 7 to 9 hours. If you are in a hurry, set the heat to “high” and
cook this recipe for rice for about 3 hours

Sometimes rice such as Spanish rice does not stick to the bottom of the clay pot. (Especially if you cook it on “High”.

Variations- You can use the same amount of tomato sauce as the Spanish rice. This recipe in tomatoes is very rich. Sometimes I substitute some tomato juice (V-8 juice adds another flavor to this easy recipe) by adding some of the tomato sauce to bring out the flavor. By adding juice, thin out this recipe for rice as well.

If I have them on hand, I use 2/3 of yellow pepper 2/3 of red pepper. and using 2/3 of the green pepper instead of the whole green. It adds color to this rice recipe.

This Spanish rice recipe serves 6.

PS – One of the tastiest ways we’ve found is to eat Spanish rice, stuffed inside a pita pocket. Scrumptious!
