Applebee’s Red Apple Sangria

My husband and I decided to take an hour away from the kids for dinner, so we went to Applebee’s. I was craving an adult type drink and after browsing the drinks menu I settled on a Red Apple Sangria. Normally I would have a Daquiri or a Martini, but I thought I would try something new. I was surprised when they brought out the drink.

First of all, the glass was huge, and very large, as it was called Applebee’s. It looks very elegant, with that fresh fruit topping. He had a golden wedge in a glass with a wedge. They also had 2 cherries and 2 balls of apples out of two small plastic swords. I ate all the fruits, which were very good.

A glass of Sutter Home Cabernet, DeKuyper Luscious Red Apple liqueur, tropical fruit juice and lemon lime soda. This is good, so I gave it a try. The first sip was pretty strong, but after that, it didn’t taste good. I think because it had so much ice in it that it started to water down, it tasted more like a regular drink than drinking alcohol.

They also had other Sangrias that I may head to Applebee’s to try again, but I’m not sure if I’ll get the Red Apple Sangris again. But it wasn’t great. I think I prefer the drink type better. I did like the taste of the fruity drink with the size, I’m sure it was worth my money. Although it didn’t fill me up like some of the other drinks, I could have had a few more, but only settled for one.

What I didn’t like about the drink was that it tasted a bit watery after a while, and although it was huge, it wasn’t really filling. At about five dollars a glass it was quite reasonable, but it cost as much as our food. You may have your money’s worth on this drink, but I’m not sure if I’d buy another one or not. Maybe if they cut back on putting so much ice in the drink, it would be better. So over all it was a nice, or should I say great, drink. Red Lake Sangria from Applebee’s is something that I may not even buy again.
