Are Scary Quotes Scary to People Who Don’t Understand Them?

The University of St. Louis’ “The Current Online” story released the top ten scariest movie quotes. Most of these quotes are scary for people. However, they are not going to be scary for people who don’t know about scary movies. Here’s a rundown on each of the choices for someone who isn’t familiar with monster movies.

10. “Here’s Johnny!” from “Splendor”

Honestly, this line looks like The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.

9. “Candyman, candyman, candyman…” from “Candyman”.

Nothing. Maybe someone really likes the song “Candyman” by Aqua. For someone who is not very familiar with scary movies, it would have been much better “Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice.” It was on the air or it was a Beetlejuice cartoon.

8. “At the end of my friend.” from “Child’s Boy”

This sentence brings back good memories from the movie The Fox and the Hound.

7. “They come to get you, Barbara” from “Night of the Living Dead”.

Not knowing what it is, not all scary. However, references to at least the police approach to get a person, so it can seem a little scary.
