Avoid Opening a Credit Card Account with Juniper / Barkley’s

My first credit card account was opened when I was 18. I felt free, I felt adult, I was happy with the card. I was charged $200.00 from Capitol One Bank. They actually charged me a $3.00 a month fee seeing as how I was new to the credit card world when I went with it. In addition to that $3.00. I have never had a problem with this card for about 2 years later, even though after the credit was well established, I was given offers left and right from credit companies I had never heard of.

Juniper was a paper company mostly that seemed to have real assets. I was offered a low introductory rate for the first 6 months. I was also given an additional credit limit of $400.00. I went with him.

And within 2 months they raised my $400.00 limit to $600.00 for a valid customer. 2 months! I felt golden, I’m good… I’m a good customer, yay! I was also given a new platinum card. I felt good…however, it was when the phone calls started. Day and night I would have people from India asking me to have some kind of gold protection sign or something like clay. I foolishly signed up and was charged $75.00 for this plan. This policy will protect me if my card is ever stolen.

I don’t know folks, but then I got this weird feeling like I just got caught for the car. Should I ask for this free protection if something happens? I called back after they noticed I was charging $75.00 and adding $9.54 a month to their gold plan. I canceled the plan and gave my money back. Phew!

After they have left, he calls out that the drones have entered. The alcohol was terrible, because the English were so broken I didn’t know what the hell they wanted half the time. I had a woman from India call me telling me that she had already enrolled me in some kind of protection program. I am very angry that I did not give consent to anyone to write to me. It turns out these idiots were trying to re-enroll me in the program I had just canceled.

I bluntly told him to stop the calls, and that I didn’t want to write myself into anything in any way.

He stopped calling. Then things took a turn for the worse.

I have never in my life acquired a late charge, or over the limit fee. I studied when I came to my faith, and slowly these morons were extinguished.

I received the bill from the 1st of November last year, I remember quite well because it was the first time that something was wrong with my credit. On the 2nd I sent my payment, thinking nothing of it. Payment is due on May 17. On December 1st when I received my next bill, it stated that I was charged a $35.00 late fee!

Really late! I don’t think so! It is obviously some kind of error! I sent the payment the next day I received it. I got on the phone and stated my claims, but was told what had happened, and that the charges were not valid. They said that because of the big business, they can sometimes take 21 days off to pay for their service. When I found their “office” I assumed it was based in the USA, there was no way in hell that the 20 day salary could get there. and if it be so, they should first send the proposal. Then they told me that because of Thanksgiving, and the post offices are not held responsible; They dared me to be known around the holidays, and it was usually my fault. I should have called the BBB, but I got paid and I did.

So I returned the account so that the ways to earn money would go straight from me. I just called for a specific account. The problem is solved… but still, I would be satisfied if they were lowering the brand name so that they could see it coming out on the 2nd.

My first Beef with Juniper-

They screw you with fake late fees. Now thinking; even on holidays no longer than 16 days to approach them. Scum bag.

My second beef with Juniper:

One sweet day when I was trying to make a phone payment, I was no longer greeted by Juniper…for my credit companies name was now Barkley. I was never notified of the change…when I tried to make my payment, my information was no longer locked in the system, and I had to waste an hour with the rep ‘finding’ my account to make the payment. A joke, a joke. It was nice to be warned, but whatever.

My Third Beef

This happened about a year and a half into being a buyer with Juniper or Barkley or whatever the hell it’s called. I watched the rate go up, and even as the months passed. Now I’m on the ‘almost illegal’ but ‘not quite illegal’ rate. 29.9999999999% They certainly love to go up to an unfair 30% rate, but they know they will get it.

Do rates just go up if you’re a bad customer with piles of late fees and over-the-limit fees? I only got one late fee a year ago. I’ve never bought another one, I’ve never crossed my limit… and I’m advertising rates here to pay a dead beat customer.

My Quarter Beef:

Freely raise my credit to immense sums. I started with a limit of $400.00, and now I’m sitting at a limit of $2000, and I’m due for a raise sometime this month. You see that you count me as a servant.

Fortunately, I am wise in my faith, and I know better.

This card is almost paid off, it has already been cut. I have no plans to ever use them again, and I advise everyone who is looking to open an account to be a teen. Juniper Barkley.

They raise your rates, raise your limits, charge you with late fees that are unfair, exchange companies and pay for your information, and have people from India calling you day and night while trying to rip you off into buying a protection card, and other stupid things. there is no need for development.

Out of my 4 credit cards, this is one of the very worst companies you could ever work for.
