Please note: This comment is about my personal experience trying to eat at Smashburger, not a burger review.
This week before going down Colorado blvd., I noticed a new burger. ibid., Smashburger. YES! Maybe a good burger place in Denver, where the cheeseburger was invented. At first impression I was a little skeptical, you have to fill out a paper with your burger options to add. A burger is a simple item. A little extra, but don’t skip it, not in place of a fast burger. And never offer a salad, even if you offer a roast patty on top.
The place had very full tables, and some people were waiting for orders. We waited in a line of 10 people, I handed my card to the nice lady at the counter, she then read me the details as I sat down. Why did I fill out the paper? After he said that it would take twenty minutes, and we took a funny time, we sat down. 20 minutes came and went, so in 30 minutes I’ll start listening to other boards complaining about it for an hour. I wasn’t going to wait an hour for a burger, maybe at Apple Pan or In-N-Out. So I went over to see what was going on.
There was an inexperienced manager, a complicated burger at the condiment station and a complicated package far away from the burger. I asked the manager for the status of my burger, he said he was working on it, but my friend’s burger, ordered on the same ticket, had not yet been placed in the pan.
They had. the matter was taken seriously, and all the men said they were doing the best they could. I also offered to help rescue the seven burghers who were sitting there. Then I noticed that my burger had been sitting on the counter the whole time. It turns out that they prepare orders to eat there.
Looking around at the un-happy customers, I noticed that the six burgers were really cooked. Why is that grid not full of burghers? 20 people are waiting.
Finally my friend just says he wants his money. First teach us not to return our money. Others get upset and get away with giving us all a refund. At the same time they become burghers and they have just handed us food.
So we leave, having dismissed the new customers for the delay of time, they turn and leave.
At last I am hungry, I come and sit down and eat my burgher and flower terrible A large patty, a little on the dry side, from the fact that it just sat under a heat lamp for 20 minutes, pepper jack, lettuce, tomato, salsa (the best part), break sauce. It was average at best.
Overall, the burger was a 5 out of 10. The service was abysmal and the concept of a high end fast food, salad, breakfast, burger joint that serves beer is hard for me to pull off. I’ll see if they fix the issues there and replace the current agency, if the location is successful.
