Over the past couple of years, the mojito has become a fashionable mixed drink. It is especially popular in the summer when people are looking for an alcoholic drink that will quench their thirst as well. Bacardi Silver Mojito is a decent bottled option. Of course when at all possible it’s best to make a mojito from the ingredients themselves so you can control the alcohol content of your drink. Many people prefer a stronger mojito than what you will get in this bottled version, but in a pinch Bacardi Silver Mojito is not a bad option if you are at the liquor store looking for a ready made version of this popular drink.
For those of you that are not familiar with what a mojito is, it’s was developed in Cuba. It’s actually a rather simple drink when you look at the ingredients. All you need is rum, lime, fresh mint, sugar, and some club soda to top it off if you wish. The key with a mojito is getting the flavor of the ingredients to blend well. This is why you start with the sugar and mint leaves and put them in the bottom of a glass. Next you use a muddler to smash these together to release the essense of the mint. Next, if you were making this at home you would add lime juice and use the muddler again. To finish the drink off you would add the rum, club soda to taste, and ice and you would have your perfect summer drink to cool you off with a kick. The nice thing about making these at home is you can control the strength of the drink by determining the type of rum you use, and it’s amount in comparison to the club soda. Obviously, with Bacardi Silver Mojito you don’t have that option.
When compared to most home versions, the Bacardi Silver Mojito will have a lower alcohol content and flavor from the rum. This is because the product is marketed more towards the wine cooler type consumer as is all of Bacardi Silver’s bottled drinks. The nice thing about the Bacardi Silver Mojito though is you get all the flavors of a traditional mojito. You can actually taste the mint, more on the front side of the drink. It has a nice sweetness along with the mint in the beginning for the sugar flavor. You do taste a mild lime flavor at first, but the finish of the drink has a strong lime bite which is a nice touch. This is especially pleasant for the summer season as a drink.
If you are looking for a nice refreshing alcoholic drink this summer the Bacardi Silver Mojito is a good choice for you. It is a very refreshing drink, and you will not feel heavy effects from the alcohol content of the drink. If you are more interested in having a mojito with a high alcohol content, I strongly suggest making your own mojito at home. Yet, if you are out or just want a mojito drink while at a backyard bbq with friends to enjoy while socializing, Bacardi Silver Mojito is a very nice new drink from the Bacardi Silver line of beverages.
