Yes, Waikiki is known for its incredible nightlife. But cocktails aren’t kept at night in the action-packed part of Honolulu known as Waikiki. Whether you’re looking for a daytime Mai Tai at a casual bar overlooking Waikiki Beach or a dry mouth martini just minutes after midnight, the following are the best bars in Waikiki.
Delivers the most famous bar in Waikiki Canoe Club leader. Located at 2335 Kalakaua Avenue, the leader’s favor is well earned. Named for the legendary surfer, Captain Kahanamoku, Captain Canoe Club is a full-service stable that takes place all day and all night. The restaurant offers different styles in the dining room and bar, and has separate menus for each. Of these, the Duke has excellent food. I highly recommend the prime rib, which is great, reasonably priced and cooked to perfection. If you plan to dine, I recommend making reservations and highly recommend that you make them in the morning. Each night he gets a packed lunch for the leader. If you want to enjoy a morning or afternoon cocktail overlooking Waikiki Beach, this is the place to be. Duke’s Night gets a little big and can be a little harder to drink. But overall, the nightlife at Canoe Leaders Club simply can’t be beat.
LuLu Waikiki Surf Club is another great place to grab a few drinks alongside the World Famous Waikiki Beach. Whether it’s day or night, LuLu’s is just a fun with great music and amazing good food. Located at 2589 Kalakaua Avenue, LuLu is also one of Waikiki’s newest additions. Here’s the kicker: LuLu is open 24 daily and movie hours from 6 p.m. at 4 p.m. too loaded to do the math, which means LuLu’s serves alcoholic drinks all but 2 hours a day. I’m getting goosebumps just thinking about it.
For the younger crowd (21-26), McGillycuddy’s Moose is located at 310 Lewers Street. Another McGillycuddy offering live live and dance upstairs. It also offers a typical pub/a> menu – burgers, sandwiches, chicken, etc. good I recommend that you eat before going to McGillycuddy’s. Or at least drink a lot before you order your food.
One bar that offers much better food is Da Big Kahuna. Also fairly new, Da Big Kahuna, located at 2299 Kuhio Avenue, is a great place to kick back with a pint of beer and a draft big game. Their full menu, including the famous Big Kahuna Burger, is served until 3 p.m. Give Big Kahuna two pool tables as well. and meals on weekends.
Mai Tai Bar at the Royal Hawaiian is another perfect spot for a midday cocktail (a Mai Tai perhaps?) right next to Waikiki Beach. The food is decent, but overpriced (you’re paying quite a bit for the place). Speaking of location, you’ll find Mai Tai Bar at 2259 Kalakaua Avenue. The Royal Hawaiian, also known as the Pink Palace, is pretty hard to miss.
