Looking for a weekend to take this off? Residents of Indianapolis are not only fortunate enough to live in a beautiful city with many small town perks, but they are also less than three hours away from dozens of quaint towns and several bustling metropolises.

Brown County, Indiana – Commonly known as the “Little Smokies,” Brown County is famous for its scenery. People come from all over the world to witness the Brown County State Parks change over time. They transform acres of woods into vibrant shades of yellow and red. Browne County also offers unique shops, restaurants and lodging for all travelers. Northwest / Chesterton, Indiana – A town located on Lake Michigan, Chesterton is drawn to several festivals. The most famous, the Wizard of Oz Festival is celebrated every year in September and brings in more than 100,000 in total, – including surviving munchkins and family members. The State Park is also located in the northern part of the town. With nearly 3,000 protected acres, Dunes offers camping, trails, beaches, and more. Chesterton also features a town strong in unique gift shops. For your weekend getaway, Chesterton is located just minutes from Michigan City, which offers wildlife, casinos, and shopping outlets.

Shipshewana, Indiana – The heart of the Northwest Indiana Amish community is Shipshewana. A feature of the small town is the extensive road for horse-drawn carriages to ride freely through the streets. Quality, Amish-made goods are also available for purchase at more than 100 shops in Shipshewana. Louisville, Kentucky – The port of music and horses, Louisville is the southernmost honor of Indianapolis. Home to the Louisville Slugger Factory and perched on the Ohio River, Louisville also offers museums, festivals, skate parks, and how much more The city center is also known as Forth Street, which has transport, restaurants and shops. French Lick, Indiana – Bask in the relationship and solitude of French Lick. French Lick Springs Resort & Casino master game, spa treatments, golf, and more. South Bend, Indiana – Home to Notre Dame (not to mention, Notre Dame football), South Bend Bend is a busy city.
