I should start by saying that I am a big American Tires fan until now. American Tires offers free flat repairs, when they first opened in my town I thought what a great marketing idea… they fix flats for free even if you didn’t want to. get money from them! I had a nail in my tire and they fixed it for free with no hassles, just like they advertised, so from that point on I became a big fan of theirs and bought all my tires from America Tires. years I was such a big fan that I didn’t even think of going to any of the team’s tires or even bothering to get any other bars when I needed tires.
A few years ago I had a leak in one of my tires while I was traveling and I couldn’t find a Tires of America in the area… there was Big Brand Tire Company just around the corner and I decided to go to them and just pay whatever the fee would be to fix it there for the crown Much to my surprise, they also offered free flat repairs just like Tires of America! Otherwise they were very friendly, and there were no hassles or attempts to upsell and sell me other services! Then suddenly two favorite places went to sleep!
I recently inherited a car I was almost kicked out of. The tires were still treading but they were over ten years old. Note that if your tires are more than eight years old, even if they have plenty of tread, you should still change them because the rubber tends to wear out and possibly become unsafe. This was my place.
I couldn’t afford to buy new tires right away, so I figured I’d go to two of my favorite places to see which one might get me the best deal. I went toBig Brand Tires to give them a chance to get a good price. The car is a 1996 Buick Park Avenue and the size is P205/70R15.
The tires they quoted me were for the Westlake brand for $58.99 each. With shipping, handling, taxes, and extended warranty the total comes to $359.42 for all four new tires.
This is a fair price and a pretty decent solution for some new tires. These tires do not have mileage ratings, however, their expectation is about 40,000 miles and the warranty should be extended. In the end, I was alone for several years… even with a big driving habit.
When I told the Big Brand Tires guy, I couldn’t finish that day, he was very professional and gave me a note that I could come back at any time and still get the same pricing! The pressure did not make me the pressure on that day to sum up and he also told me if I had to buy the price, to be faithful to them they would return because they could get similar tires from their competitors at a competitive price.
So here I felt that I was armed and ready to go. After a few weeks when I was getting closer to full fatigue, I thought I would see what American Tires was going to do for me. The dealership gave me two choices and the lowest priced tires were about two dollars less than Big Brand Tires, however they were not valued either but their expected mileage was about 35,000 miles – 5,000 less than Big Brand Tires. The total pricing was about eight dollars less than I received from Big Brands. His second choice was about six dollars more per tire but had an expected 45,000 miles (not an estimate, just an expectation).
A great benefit was that Tires of America was offering a $100 mail-in discount. I could immediately see that this would be much better run in the long run, however I would like to reduce it. and however long it may take to return to me.
I asked Tires of America for a quote for the quote and was told that their system would not allow them to print the quote. He was worried that I wanted to accept their offers in writing so that I wanted to lower the price of their documents and mail since I couldn’t make the sums that day. when I told him that I was waiting, I was told in a special way that it was only good on that day, and that it would expire at the end of the day.
So here I am frustrated, thinking that I could have saved a hundred bucks, but because I couldn’t do it on this day, I would have lost the special offer!
Two days later I had the money for new tires. I called Big Brand Tires because I had the letter and told them about the mail order discount that American Tires was offering… I know that mail order discount programs take a lot so I wasn’t expecting them. send some messages on the reduced program just for me, but I asked if they had anything to do for me because I wanted to get the crowns today.
Sam Jaramillo, a Big Brand Tires rep, offered to give me $50 cash back from a previous reading as a “Prince Match Discount” because of what I told him about America Tire. I like this even more since it was an instant savings rather than completing mail in reduced forms and waiting for some check or credit card to come in an email two months later… as long as I even remembered to do the email! I need to save money today, not two months later as I told him I was right there.
When I arrived, Sam printed the new price and the total is now $309.42
They entered the car and I went to wait in the lounge (waiting room), which was fully equipped with a large flat panel< /a> HD TV, devices advertising, free WiFi, and even two computer stations with full Internet Access!
About 20 minutes later, Sam came in and said he was messing with the inventory count… Now I know what you’re thinking because the same thought ran through my mind! This is where he shows up to “grab” and try to throw me more money – and what options would I have, since my car was already in the lift and my tires were already gone and gone!
Sam went on to say that since they mixed up the inventory count, the lack of Westlake crowns had been brought up by me. The next step would be Delta tires which had a 60,000 mile warranty (mileage rating!) and a retail price of $94.99 – but since there was a problem with the inventory mix in their system, they would put Delta tires on my car. at the SAME DISCOUNTED PRICE as the Westlake crowns I mentioned at the beginning!
Big Brand Tires works with such integrity and professionalism that Sam was able to offer me a tire that cost $3.00 more per tire without charging a penny more than what I quoted! This is an additional savings of $144.00 – I CAN’T BELIEVE IT!
I HAVE A TOTAL SAVING OF $194.00!!! They even gave me an extended warranty without charging me anything extra for more expensive tires!
An additional note about the warranty… I decided to get a warranty because Big Brand Tires does not PRORATE for warranty services. This means that if you have tires for 50,000 miles out of 60,000 and have to replace them under the warranty program, they will replace them absolutely free of charge! Other companies charge a prorated fee for replacement … for example when another company, in the same model, I want to pay 83% prorated for the total replacement, which will equal $79.00 each! So definately increase the extended payment service – it’s worth it!
Big Brand Tires is now my choice for tire companies, needless to say. If you would like more information about all the services they provide and their sites, click here to see my opinion The first article on Big Brand Tires…
