California Adventure: Paradise Pier

California Adventure was the birth of beauty and fun in California many years ago. One thing I remember as a child was a fair or carnival. A trip that brought some fun, food is brought to a small patch of land. Pierus’ paradise is a land very similar to those memories. This whole area is a pillar of one of my favorite lands in both Disneyland and California Adventure.

One reason is beauty. Disney literally created their own. Earth is built around a body of water that resembles an ocean. Wooden planks are like planks the theme for this park is absolutely amazing. On the other side of the coin, there are also similar carnival rides. There are some “Disneyized” attractions, but most of those attractions are simple, and the carnie rides are safer.

Paradise Pier: California Screamin’, Maliboomer, Sun Wheel, Mulholland Fury, Golden Stinger, Golden Zephyrus, King Triton Carousel and Jumpin’ Jellyfish. As you can see most of these attractions are carnival rides. I will say that this area of the park is very large and full of carnival shops, games and restaurants. The beauty of the Pier is the amount of space. Although everything is well placed, it feels like there is a lot of elbow room.

I really like this optical illusion because you don’t feel crowded or crowded. California Screamin’ is the biggest attraction in the Paradise Pier area and maybe the first or second attraction in the park. This is a huge and longroller coaster. It’s a standard metal roller coaster. The vehicle ride is very comfortable and very safe. I don’t know anything special about this coaster, but the ropes and the view from the top of the beach are breathtaking. This ride is built for teens and seniors. I would not allow any child under the age of 10 to ride this coaster.

Maliboomer is a giant freefall barf shield in front of you. I did not ride this attraction because it has a plexiglass shield in front of it. I guess the viewers were taken from 180 feet in the air to protect them. The Sun Wheel is one of the biggest and coolest iron wheels. Mulholland Fury is a short and very cool ride. This attraction is very fun to ride as long as the line is short. Don’t wait more than fifteen minutes for this attraction, it’s not worth it.

Basically your car takes sweeping turns, goes up and down hills and that’s it. Nothing special, just plain funny. The Orange Stinger is an adult size version of Flik flyers. Think of the golden Zephyr Astro orbiting the iron ropes. King Triton’s Carousel, this is a carousel sign with the Little Mermaid theme. Jumpin’ Jellyfish is a lighter version of Maliboomer. You go up and down slowly, this ride is more about the view than the drops.

As you can see most of these rides are self explanatory. There isn’t much in the way of cool effects and new type of equipment. But the desire and good family fun are very present here in this country. I mean this part of the park can get very busy. If you plan to ride the most of these pleasures, I advise you to take this land first during the day. Mainly because those attractions sometimes have limited load and unload and only two attractions here have a Fastpass option; California Screamin and Mulholland Fury.
