Yeah, I know it might seem strange that it’s time to write a review about a lip balm. But Affiliate Content asked for reviews of products I can’t live without. Carmex is definitely something I would miss if I was stranded somewhere on the desert islands.
I first fell in love with Carmex about ten years ago, when I was going to serve in the Peace Corps in the Republic. of Armenia the air is very dry in Armenia and it is very hot there in the summers. I started using lip balm as a means of keeping my lips from drying out from the intense sun. I once got my hands on a pot of Carmex and immediately fell in love with the way it dyed my lips. I also loved that the resin has staying power on the lips. I can apply it and an hour later I can still feel it in my mouth.

My experiences
Currently, I have a carmex pot and two clicks in my house. I also used the carmex version of the EZ-ON applicator. I like all three versions, but I think I’m hitting the hammer. I like that I can easily apply it and store it in my purse. I also like that the Click Stick comes in a hard plastic container. I found the EZ-ON applied version, which comes in a soft tube, to be more fragile. If it gets closer to the heat source, the EZ-ON applicator is much more likely to dissolve and make a big mess. The cups have more product in them, but using them requires you to apply Carmex or a brush with your finger. It is easy for the product to be contaminated with dirt or seeds. I find the EZ-ON version of the Carmex app is too soft and light. In my opinion, the Click Stick offers the best of both worlds.
I definitely feel and smell menthol every time I apply carmex to my lips. This doesn’t happen to anyone who likes their lip balm to taste or smell good, as Carmex has a mildly medicinal smell and taste. On the other hand, because it doesn’t taste good, it keeps me licking my lips, which makes it less likely to stick. When I use the click and drink versions of Carmex, my lips feel slightly sticky when I first apply this product. When using the EZ-ON applicator, the product is softer and thinner and doesn’t seem to last as long.
How does Carmex compare to that old stand, Chapstick?
Before I found Carmex, I was addicted to Chapstick. But I no longer use Chapstick because it feels waxy and dry when I apply it to my lips. Chapstick also doesn’t have the kick to my skin that I enjoy when I apply Carmex. Now I find that Chapstick is a poor substitute because it just kind of sits on the lips. Even Carmex doesn’t seem to last.
Carmex I can’t live without ya!
I think it’s fair to say that I’m addicted to Carmex. I definitely miss it when I don’t have a new application in my mouth. I put it on first thing in the morning and last thing before going to bed. And since I’m moving to Germany in a few months, I’m sure I’ll stock up on a few tubes in case I can’t find them when I go. Not every medicinal scent and flavor will be Carmex, but for me, that alone will do as a lip balm!
