Make a weather station by cutting out a cloud shape from a hinged stock. Paint the cloud with chalkboard paint. It is available in colors blue, white and others. Or, when you cut out the cloud shape, cut a piece of chalk or contact paper together. Cloth glue; Of course the contact paper is peel-n-stick. Place a piece of sticky velcro at the bottom of the cloud, on the outside, at the very edge. Use opposite pieces (cut into several pieces) to hang the elements you want. Cut out card stock shapes to make weather elements that your child will love. Cut the lightning, the raindrop, the cloud, the sun, even the rainbow. Or, make it easier for yourself, place the sticker element on the card stock, and cut it out. Put just one weather element from the window, or more than one, and hang several at a time. Simply glue or weather-stripping tape to the ribbon element, apply the opposite piece of velcro to the opposite end, and press it to the back of the cloud.
A hanging weather forecast is part of the fun; the child can also write “Cloud”, “Pluynum” or other words to describe the actual weather of the day.
