Choosing a Fondue Pot: What You Need to Know

Do you like fondue? If not, maybe you should give it a try. Not only are fondue parties retro and clean, they are also easy on bank account. The initial price of the basic fondue starts at $50, which is not bad for a small appliance. Each set usually includes a frying pan and a fondue pot. The pot is used for preparing fondue and serving. Hence, after the initial purchase, everyone is really worried about the purchase, going into it. Sound interesting? If so, what else should you know before buying one;

Types of Fountain Pots

Three types of fondue pitchers. It is very important to have a basic understanding of each, because the type of fondue pot determines what you can put in it. Cheese fondue and fondue dessert are prepared in a traditional clay pot called caquelon. An earthenware vessel in naturally adhering makes it good for keeping foods warm for an extended period of time. So, mde, it is said to create cheese and table fondue pots.

The main difference between a cheese fondue pot and a tabletop fondue pot is its size. Cheese fondue pots are larger than a dessert pot. However, if needed, you could technically serve it at the fondue table in a cheese fondue pot.

A third type of pot is used for bourguignon fondue. Bourguignonne fondue, unlike other types of fondue, involves cooking meat and draws in hot oil. It is made in a metal fondue pot, which has a tapered opening to prevent splashing. The pot can also reach temperatures of 350 degrees, which brings me to my next point.

Types of Heat Sources

Each fondue pot also comes with its own heat source, which flows in as the pot can also be used. For example, a fondue pot that uses a lamp as a heat source is not capable of properly melting cheese. . However, it would be capable of melting chocolate. Other types of heat sources commonly used with fondue cups include electricity, alcohol lamps, and canned fire (Sterno).

Personally, I prefer using either an electric fondue pot or one that uses canned food. I like electric fondue pots because they can get really hot and you don’t have to worry about the food melting. The downside to using it is that you can only use it for an electrical outlet.

On the other hand, fondue pots that run on a canned stove do not require an electrical outlet. In addition, the food is hot for several hours at a time. It is washed out though. The food is also very greasy and spills easily. So, I don’t recommend using it around children.
