Its inevitable that a princess party is in the future of most parents with a little girl. However with so many options, how do you choose which princess? How about Cinderella? Cinderella is by far the most well known Disney Princess. Her beautiful dress and happily ever after moment are the dreams of most little girls. Making those dreams a reality for your little princess is almost fairy dust easy.
Invitations
Idea #1
In honor of a royal proclamation send a scroll invitation. Find scroll paper clipart online and print party information in the blank area of the scroll. At each corner add a different image.
Idea #2
Print the party information onto cardstock. Try to fit 2 invitations onto one piece of cardstock if possible. Leave a half inch of border around each individual invitation for cutting. Cut each invitation out carefully. Save as much of the border around each invitation as possible. Find Cinderella clip art online (preferably clip art that has no background image). Print the clip art on translucent or vellum paper, again printing 2 Cinderella images on each piece of vellum. Be sure to size the Cinderella clip art to cover the invitation an leaving a half inch border all around.
Carefully cut the printed Cinderella images the same size of the already cut invitations. The Cinderella images should lay on top the invitations and measure exactly. Using decal scissors cut a decorative border around both vellum and cardstock. Punch two small holes at the top of the invitation. Lace riboon through both holes from the bottom and tie a bow on the front. Use decorative ribbon or ribbon that matches party supplies. Your finished product should be an invitation of Cinderella on top that can be lifted to reveal the party information.
Decorating Ideas
Cinderella party supplies are readily available at most party stores and online, but a little originality will set your royal affair apart from the rest. Cinderella’s signature colors are sky blue or ciel and white. Use these colors for crepe and balloon decor. Recreate the Clock Tower using a long piece of cardboard or posterboard. (Use online images or the movie for reference). Paint a clock face at the top and don’t forget to set the time to midnight.
Your princess will need her royal coach, so have a few pumpkins handy for transformation. If your party is during harvest time, visit the pumpkin patch and pick a few pumpkins to display in your party area. Try to get the pumpkins with the vines. Its not likely that your local grocery store won’t have pumpkins. If your party isn’t during harvest, your local craft store should have faux pumpkins and gourds. Jazz up with some fairy dust (fine glitter) for an extra touch.
Menu Ideas
Twelve O’ Clock Pizza – Using a regular round pizza arrange (or have arranged) the toppings to simulate the hands of a clock. Be sure the pepperoni clock is striking twelve.
Pretty Blue Dress Drink – combine any clear soda with any blue colored Kool Aid drink. If you don’t like to give the kids soda, the blue Kool Aid drink alone works too.
Cheese Tray – Cinderella’s little mouse friends may not be invited to this party, but you can honor their heroic efforts with a cheese tray they would love!
Pumpkin Dip – This sweet dip makes an ultra cute centerpiece. Find a simple pumpkin dip recipe online. Serve dip in a hollowed out pumpkin. You can add stickers or paint a design to the outside of the pumpkin to add flare. Allow pumpkin to dry before adding dip. Serve with graham or cinnamon graham crackers.
Party Game Ideas
Thats My Shoe! – Hide several shoes around the party area. Whoever finds the most shoes wins. You can purchase shoes at a local thrift store.
Kiss The Frog – similar to Pin the tail on the donkey, whoever places the lips closes to the frogs mouth gets her prince!
Fairy Godmother Makeover – purchase Cinderella dresses for the girls (if there are boys, purchase knight or prince attire) and get them ready for the ball. Be sure to take before and after photos for each child. You can find princess party dresses sold in bulk online.
Whatever you decide to do, ask the Princess birthday girl what she thinks will be a hit with her and her friends. A princess knows what she wants! The royal ball is sure to be an enchanting and majestic affair.
