Located at 50 Hurt Plz SE, in Atlanta, just off Edgewood, between Peachtree St. and Central Avenue, the City Grill brings back great memories to visitors and residents of the city time and time again. It’s a great place for special occasions, like on that special anniversary, or even as a spot to take your girlfriend on that special night out on the town, don’t let the slightly flattering name put you off.
The restaurant itself is located in the upper lobby of the bank, and you can find it in action during the week at least. from business midwives to families on weekends, to lovers at night. The party is a formal experience, but not too formal where one feels uncomfortable (they say you can wear anything from jeans to tuxedos!). It is absolutely stunning, with marble columns and a beautifully decorated ceiling above and rich leather, with white linen below. The most beautiful dining room is described as one of the prizes of such beauty. , including the DiRona Award and AAA’s Four Diamond Award.
With a menu in the price range around $30 to $50, the choices are stunning. The overall menu is southern flavor, nouveau style (Straight American Food, with “American, they call it. Twist”). That being the case, you can find lots of naval lessons prepared in delicious and elegant ways with flavors like dark, tarragon, and even some whiskey here and there.
Try selections from the dinner menu such as the Vegetable Plate, $22 … Delicious s< /i> sautéed rainbow chard, roasted poblano peppers, hominy & tomato concassé, served with crocus risotto; theAhi Tuna, $38, grilled, with sauteed broccolini & amp; oyster mushrooms with a large soy butter sauce; or succulent duck breast, $28, pan-seared, with confit & pecan bread, wilted vegetables, and whiskey beurre blanc. There is also Filet of Beef, $40, and Swordfish, $32.
Don’t forget to check out the Pre-Show menu, available Monday through Saturday at 5:00 p.m. at 6:30 p.m. especially if you are attending the theater or symphony that night! Otherwise, lunch is always available from 11:30am to 2:00pm Monday through Friday; Dinner is served from 5:00pm- 10:00pm Monday through Saturday. As for Sunday dinner, they are only open a few times a year on Sundays, so if you’re looking for a great place to you’ll be dining on Sunday night , make sure to contact them to see if they are open!
