Colgate Cinnamint Toothpaste Vs. Close-Up – Which One Does a Better Job?

Colgate Toothpaste Sparkling White Cinnamon is the newest cinnamon flavored toothpaste on the market. Colgate knows that with its long-reigning cinnamon toothpaste, it’s close. How does Colgate Cinnamint compare to Close-Up? I set up an experiment and I will give you the results here.

First of all I love cinnamon (real or artificial) and that’s why I’ve always been a fan of cinnamon flavored toothpaste. I also like mint toothpaste, but I often buy cinnamon flavored toothpaste for Close Up. Up until two weeks ago, Close Up toothpaste was the only cinnamon toothpaste I had ever tried. Colgate Sparkling White Cinnamint was amazing.

Here’s how they compare the toothpaste.

Taste

Close to the toothpaste, the toothpaste has a slightly different, more white taste. It has a good, cinnamon flavor, but Colgate Cinnamint has more of a bite. Yes, I say Colgate, it burns a little more, it’s less fine, and it’s less sweet (these two differences may be my imagination, but I don’t think so). Colgate has more to offer than its close mouth freshener.

If you like a toothpaste that makes your mouth tint, you might prefer Colgate’s Cinnamint Super Close-Up Toothpaste. The package proclaims that Colgate Cinnamon has “Exciting Favor!” As far as “exciting” flavors can be, they have this quality.

White Power

Colgate delivers this sparkling white Cinnamint wins. Impressed with the brightness of this toothpaste. To be fair, I would like to add that a relative has a new formula called “Cammomon Glowing Sparkle gel”, which has “crystals”. These are probably similar to the silica crystals in many whitening toothpastes (like Colgate) that remove stains. However, the regular Block, Gelgelasin toothpaste claims to be whitening. For example, Colgate Sparkling White loses Cinnamint.

No satisfaction

I like the flavor of both, but I like Cinnamint better. I also notice my teeth are whiter and brighter after a few uses.

Keeping the fresh breath, evenly in the toothpaste. Merely brushing teeth regularly helps to keep fresh breath, however, even this is not much.

One other thing I noticed, Colgate is not as “tough” as Close-Up. I’m not sure what ingredient it is in Close-Up that makes it extra ambery, but one of the bad side-effects of that is it creates an unpleasant gumminess around the cap.

Unless Close-up is sold at a high price, I want to buy Colgate Sparkling White Cinnamon above Close-up. My mouth felt sweeter and my teeth whiter after using Colgate Cinnamint. Colgate Sparkling White Cinnamint wins this round by a close-up.
