Looking for a good buy on a computer with lots of bells and whistles, try the Compaq Presario line.
I was looking to upgrade to a better computer and not be able to get a new one when I wanted. A basic computer only runs fairly inexpensively these days, but I wanted some extras that make a good computer.
I have a local Renaissance and I went there for several reasons. I like their personal service and how they treat customers. And I like the fact that the service people in the store never send things to return a few weeks later.
There are certified technicians who can repair and help you with any problems you may have with your computer, regardless of whether the software, hardware or just your computer is not working properly. They are very helpful and willing to help you if they have problems.
This is one reason I went with a local company that sells computers and not some national chain like Buy or Dell. I bought a laptop at Best Buy and got some good deals with the seller. But religion is the worst.
I had a problem with Works and they said it was related software to go and install it. Maybe not the sound or the words, but you get the idea. They tested the laptop and could not find any problem with the hardware going away. I had the computer for four days.
I had to reload the service and then it ran fine but I don’t like that it blew me up so quickly when it was a new laptop. I didn’t have the thing for a week and they said it wasn’t their problem. .
So I contacted a local company and I recommend that you do the same. I settled on some others and really found that a bigger brand is a different thing to go for, but it’s another thing to buy from a store that has a repair and service store.
If they had A+ certified technicians from the Computer Technology Industry Association, I would look into buying from that place. I want to stay away from places so big that I don’t have to worry about turning away a customer or two. Yes, I know there are some things that get to those places, but for the sake of good work, that’s where I’m going.
Dell, for example, is not available for service in my area. It is the closest Dell to where I live. It’s a great ride for me when I want to have them do something to my computer and I want it fixed soon.
With Renaissance Computer I get it and they fix it right away, not sending you to have someone else do it. Either repair or replace the parts in store. That’s what I’d like to hear, we’re not shipping it out and it’ll be a few weeks.
Well, I’ve grown quite nostalgic about where to buy your computer, now Compaq. I was looking for a few things on a new desktop computer. I wanted to have a DVD burner and a CD burner for music and movies. I wanted enough memory to handle video editing and I wanted firewire so I could easily hook up my camera.
I’m sure I got what I wanted and more. The model I have is a Compaq Presario s4220nx, with an AMD Athlon XP2600 processor. Memory card with 512 KB and later upgraded it. Computer screens graphics cards are quite good and usual like modem, sound card, USB with 4 connectors and firewire in front.
It is made with a good CD/DVD burner from Hewlett Packard. I won’t go into all the specs and features of this computer model unless you get a refurbished one. I wanted to write about a common brand and line of computers and the best places to buy one.
I like to decorate the brand. I have an older Hewlett Packard and wanted to upgrade with the same company. I tried it at the time when Hewlett Packard bought Compaq or vice versa. It doesn’t matter anymore, the company is now one in the same, Hewlett Packard and Compaq.
I like the service when I call because they honestly try to help and send you updates on the products you have bought from them. You can get emails about the latest updates for your computer model and try to help if you call and have a question or problem.
I’ve used the live chat feature several times to talk to techs about this or that problem and it’s pretty easy to use when you buy from HP.
You can use your modem to talk live to the technician if you have a problem with someone trying to do it over the phone. This is nice if you want to do something quickly or have problems with your computer.
You just go to support and warm up HP and go to chat with the technicians online. You have to put in a few things like your name and the model number of your computer and then you will have a quick chat with a technician who will try to help you.
What help and support is the thing when things go wrong with your computer, that’s a nice part of the company when they try to get your problem problem solving . This is what I expect when I buy computer related products. Accept it after I buy, not when the seller gives me a pitch to sell.
Compaq line of computers all Hewlett Packard lines have the same features, they have system recovery which restore. your computer to a previous time when it was working better.
The update system is where they notify you of any updates or updates about your computer, which they call Compaq Connections. And they have refurbished computers like the one I bought. They take an older used computer and replace things like skins and install any major parts and other improvements to make the processor run better and newer and clean everything up and sell it.
They are better priced and have been proven to work well for you. They have full warranties with them and if you have a problem call and try to get help, but if it’s beyond what you can handle, they just pack up the car and take it back to the store. They can deal with it there and get it back to you a lot sooner than a few weeks.
I have to say that the last few weeks here have been tough a couple of times because I had a problem with my laptop that I mentioned. The CD drive came out and it wouldn’t read the discs and they had to send the thing into a fix. I was able to get a hold of the site somewhere and it got fixed in a few days, but it took 14 hours for Best Buy to send the laptop out, repair it, and take it back.
That’s why I say to go to a local, better office, and you can talk to the people who work on your computer to see what’s going on with it. Don’t over phone and you when it enters.
I had the opportunity to talk with their technicians with one service, when I invited them to the company fair to demonstrate some of the things inside the computer. They are happy to help and have brought out a new computer to let people peek inside.
I talked to a technician when he told me how he builds his own computers for fun, so I know that technicians have skills if they go home and build their own computers.
So overall the Compaq Presario line of computers are very good brands and there is nothing wrong with buying a refurbished computer, the computer has to be completely disassembled before it ships to you and is a little less expensive than a brand new one.
I am definitely going back to my local Renaissance Computer for my next computer, which is actually allowing my wife to buy a laptop for the 4-H Tech Team for the Lego Robotics System.
I suggest you shop locally and ask that you see the guys who will work on the computer you buy if it gets broken and needs fixing. If they don’t do it locally, take your business elsewhere. I don’t want my computer mailed, fixed, and hoping to come back in one piece.
